My free sites theory

Hello guys!
This is my first contribute to this EXCELLENT message board. (Can't wait to get those 100posts to get the tshirt..hehehe)

I must say that at the beginning you wont see any money from them...but you'll see in the long term. That's right..I believe the good in the free sites (type of build, submit and forget) are a steady way of doing money in the long term. Doing a lot from the little. You wont be rich with 10 sites..nor 100....but if you do $5 per month from one site, you'll do $50 from 10 sites and $500 from 100 sites. Math laws rulez.. heheh

How do I do them? I first select what kind of niche site I want to promote. I make two pics galleries each with around 12 or 15 pictures of that nich. I think of a appropriate site title ... if I am doing an amateur site, the site would call Cute Amateurs..or something.

After having the galleries and the site name decided, I do the warning page with 1/2 banners and a money-bar at the bottom. I usually put one banner bellow the title, the another one above the ENTER link, and the money bar above the counter (yes..i use counters).

Next step is the gallery list page...or what I call the menu..hehe I put their two links for both galleries and one link to my private link list (a site with only links to my freesites).
On that page I talk to the surfer..."hey joey...i just signed up in this site..i loved it. you should signed up for $2,95" (of course it is more elaborated. i try to convince the surfer the site is really great, the membership cost less than a pack of cigarets and try to give some credible opinions about the site I am promoting).

on the menu page I put at the bottom a small table with links to some of my other free sites to gain some link popularity. please note that surfers actually click their...traffic that way float around all your sites.

next step is to do some doorways...i do about 6 or 7 doorways each of them with a recip to my own linklist and 5 other link lists.

that way, i kept my sites clean and do some money with them. 70% of them get accepted in DMOZ..wich is great. i also use the galleries on the free sites to post to some tgps.

I use counters in order to see what LL are worth to submit to. But guess what..after a short time, I noticed my number one referel what my private link list. eheh

now my questions for you real gurus are:

1.
You think we'll have more results in promoting only one paysite per free site, or promote multi sites?

2.
Does dmoz accept FPA?

I have a decent amount of experience with freesites and I would NEVER put a counter on it, ever. The reason for this would be that after the site gets listed and moves down the list, its only going to get a few hits a day. And if your site is only getting maybe 20 hits a day and 2-3 of those click on your flashy free xxx here counter, that adds up over time. On my free sites, I have links to the linklists on the index page. Once inside the site (main.htm) the only link outs are to sponsors and one toplist to help my main site. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid is one of the most under appreciated basics of webmastering. In freesites, that should be the basis for every site, less is more. Just my 2 cents. =)

about your free sites... I believe it was you that suggested to me not to use FPA's right, at least for free sites use? That way it's easier getting listed and the traffic?

*Also, what exactly is a moneybar? Can I see an example of a good one or two? I'm currently waiting for someone from maxcash to get back to me on the topic of "moneybars" it sounds pretty interesting...

On behalf of the counters i would choose the middle way: don't use an adult counter!

use stats4all.com, i'm not a frequent stats user but there stats are unbeatable and they don't suck traffic away...

oh, and use only 1 sponsor. This will help the surfer gain more trust in it (especially with good matching content). You should see the other niche sites in your money bar as the other sponsors...

For each site I do I create a subaccount at paycounter. That way, I can track individual referers to each site, and have an overall look at how are my sites doing.

If you notice there are LL that doesn't list you. I believe all LL are worth to submit your site too...but If they never list you why bother submitting to them? With a counter, not only you can see what kind of template gets you easier more easily and what sites get you listed on DMOZ.

Do I loose traffic with them?? Well.. for every 5,000 unique hits one of them click on the counter and I am still being payed 5cents...I do believe it worth.

I rarely use FPAs...I put sometimes FPAs into my moneybars and between my link list and my sites.

A money bar is generally a simple table with links to other niche sites to give surfer an alternative to the niche you're promoting.

Yes I wasn't using trackers cuz of the same reasons - traffic leaks, but when my friend told me that paycounter tracker actually pays $0.05 for every click on their button I started putting them on my free sites. You really have nothing to loose. With paycounter it's a win-win situation. You get the stats and get paid for traffic leaking and they get that little bit of traffic...
I always place my paycounter button below the moneybar at the bottom and it gets so small amount of clicks that even if I used any other non-paying counter I wouldn't mind.

DMOZ does allow one FPA.

But you need at least 20 pics, and you're only mentioning 12 to 15 on your sites.

Tucks..I said I use two galleries per site with 12-15 pics per gallery. Wich is a total of 24 or 30 pics.

DMOZ also accept single page galleries..but you need to have 20 pics on it.
Good way to get some SE traffic to your TGP galleries.

Where do build freesites? Each on their own domain or several on one domain? Would appreciate some detailed info on this.

You can do unlimited number of sites in one domain. I never had any problem and I doubt if I'll ever will.

You wont have any problem getting listed on DMOZ nor LLs...in fact, I do believe that if you submit your sites from the same domain LL webmasters will memorize it and list you more often.

But again..I wouldn't put "all eggs in the same basket".
What if you left your domain expire?

Just to tell you that it wont hurt you having tons of sites in a signle site.

When you submit 1 site everyday to the same link list, lets say, Green guy, do you always put the same adress email? Or would the link lists consider it spamming or something?

I always use the same email. I believe that when the LL webmaster feel confortable with you and know you wont forward his traffic after being listed or something, you'll get listed easily and better spots.

Also..please note that Greenguy only accepts one site per day per person. But I believe that can be changed!
