Ordering a high-end desktop computer system- Recommendations?

Local stores around here suck, so I'm looking to buy a computer online -- 3.2 mhz cpu+, fast raided harddrives, etc... 2gb ram, for fast video editing good customer service, so on so forth.

I know of alienware, any others?

get one custom built from a smaller pc shop. cheaper and typically much better when it comes to upgrades later on.

downsides are no tech support without paying extra, but worth it imo.

Dell

call them up and make sure you gt a rep in the small business section, go for a discount...you might have to buy something they stress, like a warranty, but you should be able to get good deals on upgrades etc

dell is shit like other big name companies. hard to upgrade and they dick you around on what works with their systems.

not to mention i got ripped off on buying a 3 year warranty. so if dell was the last pc maker on the earth, i wouldn't have a pc.

All our office machines at karups are Dell and they work great.

My Laptop is an alienware and I love it. It's tech dept is good but I do not feel it has lived up to the hipe though it is a good machine.

I wish I could build pc's I used to during the 486 era; but now with the stuff I need raid 0/1 etc... more complicated.

It seems to me Alienware has become too big for its own good, I haven't heard good things about their customer service nowadays. I guess Dell would be the same.

Local stores suck around here, all I got is data doctors or stores that close up in less than a year. Unless any of you living in Phoenix know of a good store, I'll head there today
