    Be proud USA... Those Germans and Hungarians had a blast sailing for 3 months to America and then taking a train for 2 weeks just to get there. Then doing the same just to get home.

    LOL.

    Notice how back then the host country usually won, since the travel was really shittey... Anyways just thought i would share a piece of history.

                                              I know travel was a killer -
                                              Look at Paris 1900 and Stockolm 1912 and see the differnce in the Swedish team's results -
                                              My grandfather played international football for Wales back in the 1930's and a game in Germany (for example) was a week away and always a pretty good defeat -

                                              Travel, facility etc - has improved millions of times over - But - the games which just finished - Which everone worried about Greece being ready for it - Was truely outstanding - They outshone everything before it.
