The key is good records. I use quicken. I spend like 3 days in January going over everything, making sure everything is labled, balanced and no discrepancies.
I then give the accountant the data file, bank statements, credit card statments, all organized.
Accountant charges $300, and makes sure I get the max amount of writeoffs.

It is best to have a pro do it for you, otherwise you'll get a letter from bubba sam asking for a date, and then the ulcers start.
I just got a nice letter asking where my 1120's for 2003 were. (The ones sitting her on my desk
). Gave me a warm fuzzy all over my body. Don't be a cheap bastard like me, have a pro do your taxes, that is what they get paid for.
