Who has a hot tub?

My hot tub is just about to be installed and I was wondering if it's better to use the bromine or just go with chlorine treatment system for the water? What do you recommend?

Mine's built in and runs on the same water system as the pool, so it's chlorinated. Not too familiar with bromine. Guess I'm not too much of a help then, but the chlorine works well

Interesting, the tub comes with a kit which contains the liquid bromine. the sales lady on the phone says that its supposed to be way easier on the skin compared to chlorine, but I've never tried it. My friend has a pool and he uses the really good quality powder chlorine and it seems really good. I'll be posting pics soon. My back yard is about to be transformed! Can't wait!

That must be really nice, I'll bet the water is super clean! My friends pool has 10 solar panels to heat it, the temp gets to 90 degrees plus in the summer, which is actually really nice at night time. In the winter it stays in the mid to low 80's, with heat exchange pump fired by a oil furnace. He has nicest setup as far as an above ground pool goes.

Bromine breaks up under light. Chlorine breaks up under heat. If you keep it hot and out of the sun or covered use bromine.

I have an ozonator and use a bromine puck floater to keep the bromine levels low. I keep the tub inside the house at 101 in the winter and 98 in the summer.

hot tub update:

just started painting the fence i put up today, and will be done that tomorrow. I hate painting!

the good news is the backhoe will be in soon to excavate the backyard, and from that point I will laying the paver stones. I'm adding about 600 sq. ft. of patio and with the old country stone I've picked out it should look really nice!

I've got picks to show all the stages and they will posted soon!

btw, the Bromine is working extremely well. You can barely even notice the scent of it in the water, much better than chorine.

No hot tub, but I do piss in the pool fairly often, so that has to account for something.

I told Lens that a hot tub in my office would increase company moral and productivity. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have to admit that it sure does relax me, and I find that when I get I feel like doing some work, unless of course there is a 'distraction' in the tub with me.
