THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!!!

if someone was the driving force behind millions of dollars in revenue

if this someone knew the interworkings and dealings of some of the biggest webmasters around

if this someone was a expert in nearly every facet of the internet

if this person had years of business background

if this person had ground breaking ideas which could mean millions more dollars in revenue for ANY company

What might this person be worth on the job market?

Typical response from a cold-hearted idiot. But then seeing as your in the legal feild, what more could we expect?

If given the right circumstances im sure you'd sell your mother for coke.

If this person existed, why would they be looking for job and not raking in the cash on their own?

My thinking exactly. And don't tell us "you'd wanna help", so do we.

Who recently let you go?

I've been there...Still crawling back up the long hill. It's a lot easier working for an established company than trying to set up your own deal. But I can still relate to what Oz is describing.

Wizzo - you also hit the nail on the head... the people oz describe exist...

They are running many of the successful companies that we get our hosting, content, traffic, or what have you from.

I appreciate all the valid comments & responses, all the mopping up jizz & mowing lawns is funny though.

Lets just this person is a young guy, has the ability to do exactly what wizzo described if he wanted to, but is held back by certain things. Like loyalty to the people he works for. He likes the people he works for alot, enjoys their friendship & works hard 7 days a week to ensure they realize their dreams...hanging onto the hope that these people will inturn share the good fortune.

This person felt that coming to work with these people would open doors, generate a certain amount of respect & admiration, & be a great learning experience. This person works for one of the biggest people in a particular industry. And as the days go by..he watch's his ideas being used, bringing in tremendous amounts of money, new luxories being bought etc. And this person now wonders why he isn't enjoying the same

This person was taught from an early age to be loyal, to treat friends as if they were family. But he now wonders if his employers feel the same way?

You see, all jokes aside..I would love some valid recommendations, I know atleast one of you have dealt with something like this before.

Thanks Guys

His friends shouldn't deter him from pursuing his career. His friends should wish him well, which is what friends do. If they REALLY are friends.

Whenever money gets involved friendship tends to go straight to hell. No friend I've ever done business with is still my friend now, they all get greedy at some point. I believe it was Rockefeller who said that "Friendship based on business is so much better than business based on friendship". That's why I no longer do business with friends and, Heaven forbid, relatives.

Sorry to hear it Oz.
You put your trust in someone and are loyal to them, then they turn around and fuck ya.

It's happened many times.

Always look out for yourself on the side....just incase.

Ive been backstabbed before by good friends, and it sucks. But thankfully its nothing that 10 pounds of salt, a rake, a blowtorch, a chihahua, and a circus clown cant fix.

Or was that a dachsund and a rodeo clown? Hell I dont know, I get kicked in the head alot.

Hmm...
OZ...

It all depends on what Your agreement with Your folks are.

Cause if You promised something - then You deliver it no matter what.

If You didnt - than it's all really easy.
Just tell them to go fuck themselves for once.
If they want to keep You - they will raise Your salary and a lot.
If they dont want to keep You - than either You are bullshiting Yourself and arent that important after all or they are fucking stupid and dont see where their money comes from. That way than You dont need them at all and thus You can leave...

I got THREE active promises I made cause I was fucking stupid when I did that (at different times ).

One costs me 4 000$ - 5 000$ per month and another costs me 13-15 000$ per month.

The most fair of them , the third one , is just 8 000$ -9 000$ per month but I am almost satisfied with it.

However I do keep yet all three promises. After all it was me who promised and was stupid and where would I end up if I want keep my promises?

Point is - I am no millionaire and such money is pretty fucking lot for me, so You can imagine how much I suffer each pay day.

Same goes to my marriage which costs even fucking more per month.

However if I did not give any promises I would be in a somewhere likely situation You got out there.
I wont even hesitate a SECOND if not for my own promises and get it all for myself.
That easy. Period.

P.S. I dont think You all out there should jump on the guy like that with stupid jokes. Yep he's talking like a fucking Merlin , doesnt make him a lier, does it?

I find that the percentage of people who end up screwing you are ones that initially gained your trust.

Always make sure you keep your best interests in mind when money is involved.

Well...

My experience shows only one time proven thing - never work ANYHOW with friends.

Cause even if You're a saint (like me ) and wont fuck them...then yep they gonna fuck You...

Gonna tell You even more cause that subject is really close.

You guys here often make a laugh or speak seriously why do You need places like this one.

Some come here for biz. Others come for influence of some sort. Anyways most come for money.

I dont. I started working in adult couple of years ago and did a huge mistake - I took almost ALL my friends with me.

Well..guess what...now I am making posts here..

Hope You get my point.

The luxury of this biz is that you can do your own thing -- autonomy is a luxury and a goal for a lot of people including myself.

I'd tell the person to sell or give away all their crap -- simplify your life -- move in to a cheap apartment or even find a roomate -- and start from scratch on a real low budget. Cook your own meals -- throw out your TV. Then you won't need your boss anymore and you can pay your own way and work your way up on your own terms.
