FYI - there are more fatalities per 100,000 miles ridden in states with helmet laws than those that are pro-choice

I'm sure nobody was more aware of the risks than him and I doubt that if he had recovered from this accident he would have stoped doing the stunts.

RIP Indian Larry

I was on the discovery crew that rode with Indian Larry and Mondo for biker build off. We went from Pittsburg to Concorde North Carolina. He was performing stunts for the audience as part of the event. He had just gone through a 60 foot tunnel of fire dragging another stuntman. Kissed his wife and jumped on another bike to do his standing on the bike while driving, a stunt that he has done thousands of times, his bike was going too slow and the front wheel wobbled. Ashe went to reach for it he missed the handle bars and hit his head on the pavement. He wore a helmet for all of the ride but did not wear it when he fell. We were filming it but he was not doing it for Biker Build off. He was doing it because the venue billed it, he said before he was not going to do it but did not want to let the fans down who came out to see him. There was EMT's and fire fighters there for all the stunts that were being done. He did not hit a pothole. I rode with him the last 4 days he was alive, he was one of the most amazing people I have every met. Everytime somebody broke he was the first to help, every where we stopped he was mobbed by fans and talked to every one of them. All of the guys on the ride from his shop were really great people.
We had at least 10 conversations about Belladonna. He was a huge fan of hers. He kept asking me if I knew her because he and his wife wanted to meet her. She was the one and only woman he wanted to meet.
Indian Larry was a tremendous human being I am very fortunate to know him for the few days I got to meet him. My heart goes out to his wonderful wife and friends. They have all suffered an overwhelming lose.

I totally understand people that choose not to wear a helmet when they ride, it's just like not wearing a seatbelt when you drive. You should do it but most people do not want to, it should be your choice period. That's how I used to feel until 2 major things happend to people I know and love. First was seeing my 8 year old son getting into a head on collision on his 50 Raptor quad and watching him go over his handle bars and falling to the ground! As a parent it was the worst thing imaginable and I understood that this could happen if he was going to ride, but I also made sure that he was geared up before he stepped foot on that quad, Helmet, goggles, chest protector, and boots. Luckily because of what he was wearing he got up dusted his self off, shed a couple tears, looked at his bike to see if it was ok, and jumped back on it! There is not doubt in my mind that if he would have not been wearing a helmet he would have been very seriously hurt! Another thing that happend to change my thought's on seatbelts and hemets, was that a close friend of Ramona's that was barley 20 years old got into a car accident on the freeway and died because she was not wearing a seatbelt. She was caring a passenger who was wearing a seatbelt and suffered a broken wrist! Before this incident it was impossible for someone to get me to put my seatbelt on and I had received several tickets for not doing so. After the passing of this beautiful girl i vowed to Ramona and my Son to always wear my seatbelt!

It is totally your choice in what you choose to do rather it be wearing a helmet when you ride or wearing your seatbelt. Think about the people around you who care about you and your safety, those are going to be the people that are really going to hurt when you are not around
