| I preferred the way to do it in 5.5 aswell. When you choose "save for web" - choose "transparency" and "matte colour" when saving. Matte colour is the colour that should be transparent in the image. |

 | Ok.. i tried that.. didnt work: what am i doing wrong.. i feel like a retard. I create an image.. convert it to Indexed color (otherwise the transparency option isnt selectable in the save for web menu), i go to "save for web.." With the Eyedropper i select the color that should appear transparent I select 'transparency" and set 'matte' to "eyedropper color". I save the image....no fucking transparecy!! |

Fuck... I remember when I made the transition... fucking hell. Doing it in 5.5 was so much easier. Hey man - when you go to "save for web" make sure the background layer is "off", not visible. Do that and try again.

 | you need to SAVE FOR WEB with the transparent color already transparent... make sense? http://seurat.art.udel.edu/Site/Info...s/TransGif.pdf go to Step #1 of METHOD 2. If you have one layer as bright green and that's the color you want to make transparent, you just tun that layer off so you see the checker bg, then go to File> Save AS...

 | you'll see, it's actually VERY easy once you get the hang of it. just turn off that layer, and do a file save as... did that solve your problem MrThumbs?

 | Redshoe: yeah.. that works! But i dont see the advantage over good old 89a where you can simply select multiple colors from a flat image and 'make em go away'. This means i always have to keep the psd: editting a gif file later on (adding some text or re-using it for something else) will be a nightmare.. or am i wrong? |

 | Ok this would basicly solve my problem: imagine this image.. i would copy and paste in to a new layer. All i have to do then is remove the ORANGE to create a transp. image from this flat file. How do i do that? |

 | well, I use photoshop7 and it's much easier. You just pick the color with an eyedropper and make it transparent as you are saving it. As for it being a pain in the ass.. I'm not sure, I save PSD's all the time becuase.. I dunno I guess it's just a habit.

Ahahaha... np man I am not sure what I wrote is the best thing to do it, but as for "delete colour", just use the magic wand (or whatever it is called), select and click delete . You will of course get an "edgy edge" but since you´ll use that colour on the site it doesnt matter.

 | the way I would do it.. if it's not in RGB mode, change it to RGB mode (IMAGE>MODE> RGB COLOR) grab the magid wand, select the peach color and make sure the "Contigous" box is NOT checked, select the peach color and CTRL+X (aka IMAGE>CUT) File Save AS
