TGP's unite, the AVS manifesto

Well, being a professional insomniac (GOD I'd love to get some sleep!) I can't help but having my braincells fried. Anyway, I was thinking, regarding to a previous thread about TGP's going AVS, that wouldn't be such a bad idea. Here are some reasons why:

1. Everyone knows that while TGP traffic is massive, it is not extremely productive. I believe Tommy (of tommys-bookmarks.com) had a point when bringing out the many advertising oportunities withing an AVS site. WITHOUT the pricy BW.

2. Gallery makers could use AVS for their galleries too. Many AVS systems provide you with free hosting as well. And let's be honest, aren't we all tired of sexshare end terra? This could also result in eventually accepting ONLY AVS galleries. At least the surfer wouldn't get the gallery TOTALLY for free anymore.

3. You'd most probably lose significant amounts of your current traffic. On the other hand, the bookmarkers staying and the new surfers getting to you would be a veritable source of income. Hell, they've all proven their willingness to pay for porn, and most of them (with few exceptions) would be credit/debit card holders. Catch my drift?

4. You'd most certainly get rid of the UNPRODUCTIVE part of your traffic, the low-life masturbators that wouldn't pay for porn if their dicks depended on it. Again, less BW costs.

5. Some would say that sure, many wouldn't go AVS anyway, especially the smaller ones now seeing their chance to grow. Well, what the hell, let them have the traffic I mentioned above while we get the good traffic. I wouldn't mind.

6. Just think of your targeted credit-card owner traffic and imagine how it could affect your free trials for programs which require a credit card. Shit, I just saw green!

Well, as I said, I'm always tired and my head is spinning, but I hope I could plant a few ideas. Oh, and I ain't claiming to be original, just a thread I picked up on... Anyone who could recommend some good sleeping pills? Seriously...

Respect,
DamageX

TGP traffic is crap. Only Masturbators, Freebies comes to TGP. And wasting bandwith.

I agree with you AVS rules

This sounds like a nice move. The AVS that I currently use (FNP) is free for the first 3 days then charges the customer a "per-month" fee.

Which AVS would anyone suggest that I use to set something like that up? And why?

sexkey isn't free, they seem to be free but you'll have to join one of their pay sites. Surfers can cancel this membership but if they forget to cancel they are going to be billed.

Not a way te get them to trust you as a tgp owner.

FNP is the same as SexKey, if you forget to cancel after three days, you're rebilled at $49.95 for membership on one of their sites. Besides, why use an existent AVS system, why not create a new one? If we get a few of the big guys to join that should take care of the traffic, with galleries behind AVS and lots of bookmarker traffic. Any other ideas?

Just remembered something else to pitch in with. Some AVS's will pay you a few cents every time a surfer logs in to your site using their system. If The Hun would drop to 100k/day from 1.2m/day, at 0.05/login he'd still be making five grand only from logins. He probably makes that money now, on the other hand he'd have less costs and more productive surfers who could click on sponsor links on the back pages. Anyway, just a thought.

See my previous post on this thread and give The Hun a call, I'm sure he'd be interested. Convince him and we can work with the other big guys. I don't think it would take many of them in order to create a trend. Tommy created an autobookmarking trend, why not create an AVS trend as well?

Er... don't give the Hun a call. I can tell you now that he wouldn't be the slightest bit interested.

He has a huge reputation, the world's biggest porn site and over a million loyal surfers. Obviously he's making a lot of money too. That isn't going to change for anyone - and like he said, he wouldn't sell it for $10,000,000. And that's a lot of zeros.

Besides that, it would be pretty stupid for him to change anything. He's a smart guy and he's making the big dollars too.

Just build it. When he is sending us $500 to $600 per week from two listings - that is 2 hours work max - how much better could it get? 4 weeks of that and you have enough to start your own paysite.

Do it YOUR way.

I don't think that the big guys will convert their sites into something new which hasn't proven to be moneymaking.

I'm more thinking about all the small/medium tgp's which definitely need something to make their sites profitable.

As said before why would someone change a site that is making them big $$$?

Are there any small tgp owners (5,000+ uniques a day) which might be interested in an AVS tgp project?

I've got some ideas about traffic trading, galley sharing and conversion here but I'm not going to put them on this board :-)

if you are interested and have any ideas let me know: [email protected]

If you need avs protection and want the password to be FREE to the surfer, ICQ me (I don't want to spam): 102858186

You will also be paid $15 for every FREE password you give away and we are adding a "tgp" section to the site listings.

Dude, you rely upon the same trick many sites use, basically hoping the surfer forgets to cancel. Also, the surfer is not informed that he's gonna be rebilled $49.95 if he doesn't cancel after three days. Talk about fucking up your rep...

DamageX

One downside to an AVS or pay-style TGP system is this: by blocking out a number of surfers who won't pull out their credit card to access your particular TGP (for whatever reason), you have effectively blocked potential sign-ups too. It would be hard to know how many freeloaders the financial shield was weeding out compared to how many future customers it was also blocking.

If the income of a TGP is immaterial (since they're mostly free as it is) then a very small monthly fee might be the way to go. Of course, if the surfers need a card to see the TGP, I suppose gallery submitters would have to be lined up and ready to go also. Gotta keep the surfers happy at that point .

Sans an AVS system, the whole operation might look more professional if the galleries were all hosted within the same domain name. Maybe set up shop like a free host and allot the resources to each (trusted) gallery submitter.

My quick .02

Hey Damage, read the top of our join form. I think that alonge is pretty clear IMO.

We also state it:

1. on the terms and conditions
2. After the surfer submits his info they get sent to a page that says in bold lettering "you will be charged if you don't cancel, etc.." "Are you sure you wish to continue"
3. in the email that is sent to them after joining

Our chargebacks our less than 2%

Nuff said
