On a per capita basis, the US did not rank very high
|
Figure out how many U.S people participated.. then how many in any other country. I believe the U.S had the most entries.. I may be wrong but if you want to do it fairly, don't take the population but the participents... google isnt working for me atm so I cant figure it out

I'm aware that table was for the 2000 Olympics, but it's fairly consistent with this years Olympics results.
Countries like the US, China, and Russia win a lot of medals because they have large populations from which to draw athletes from. On a per capita basis, they don't rank very high at all. |

However, this does not guarantee a good performance and medals. |
One thing is for certain. India fucking sucks. 1 medal out of 1 billion people. Must be a shit hole there if they can't find any money to train the athletes.
|
wow there sure is alot of animosity towards the US and the medals won by us in this thread, always an excuse, why not just good job huh? I mean stolen languages and populations counts, why do u have to bash all the time, all this bashing about the United States and yet the thousands of people fight and in some cases die to come here. they are coming for some reason. The population is so high here because people want to be here, if your country was so great then why arent they storming your borders trying to get in?
