He may well be but it is certainly bad timing to call him one in reply to a post about his mother passing on. This is not something a caring human beling would ever consider doing.

When something like that happens, it's a sad moment and you turn for support from somewhere or you have to tell someone. GFY is always available and he may have friends on the board.

I agree with that statement. Every time I speak my mind in another thread about religion or poliitics, I expect a certain amount of bnacklash. Every time I ask a simple question, regardless of what it is, I expect someone to give me some shit about it. This is GFY.

However, this is different. If Lykos's mother passed away, he shouldn't have to expect shit like that from anyone anywhere. I doubt even Lawrence Connor would have done something like that.

There are some odd characters on GFY, but all of them are human beings (as far as I can tell) and there are limits on human behavior. DarkJedi stepped WAY over the line on this one and deserves this award wholeheartedly. Frankly, I think Lens should ban him for doing this.

I agree with you. If my mom would have passed away when I was reading GFY, I certainly would have thought twice about posting it here. It probably would have been better for Lykos to tell his closest GFY friends via ICQ and one of them could have posted a notice that he lost a loved one and would be unavailable for a while. But he didn't do this. He is probably in a state of confusion and isn't thinking too rationally right now.

There isn't any conceivable reason which would excuse DarkJedi's behavior over this issue. He has shown by his actions that he is a cold, heartless monster, and will probably suffer some consequences for doing what he did. I, for one, will never consider dealing with him for any reason in the future.

You are right. He won't be banned. In a lot of respects, that is a good thing. It re-enforces the fact that GFY allows (relatively) complete freedom of speech. On the other hand, people can and have been banned for much less.

At the very least, DarkJedi should be warned over this. There have been situations in the past where board BS has escalated to the point of physical threats between the parties involved. A situation like this could conceivably lead to something similar happening again. I know if it had been my mother who passed away, I'd feel like tracking the bastard down and ripping his still beating heart from his chest.
