The Da Vinci Code

Has anyone read this book. A friend of mine recommended it, so I went to amazon and checked out the reviews. It seems to a book which you either love or hate. Some say it's a masterpiece while others say that it's a movie script in the book format.

What did you guys think of it. Should I invest my time in it?

Read it, then make your own conclusion.

Alrhough not 100% factual, I found it to be a really good book.

One of the best books I've ever read, I suggest reading Angels and Demons first..its the prequel.

Always true.

I've read some many bad books this summer though, so I thought I'd do some research first on this one. But your replies do sound positive. I might as well order it.

Btw: Any other reading recommendations, now that I'm gonna put an order?

Oops, didn't noticed you'd already posted...

Is there anyone here residing in Asia who knows how many books you have to order to get lower fares on shipping?

I'm reading it right now actually. So far so good. The story line is very interesting but I'm not sure if its 100% acurate. When my wife read the book she kept on checking different painting on the web that the book was talking about it and she said it helps to understand to book better that way. From what I've read so far I really like it. You can also get the audio book of it from Audible.com but I prefer the book.

It is a pretty good read, but you have to like things like that. I would sugguest that you go to B and N and read some of it there first.

Or search and you may be able to find some of it online. Then decide.

It is a very stupid book. I am not a fan of the catholic church but the stance of the church in the book is so umbelievable that it wreaks the story line. Add in all the seekers of truth working nights and weekends to hide the truth and it makes zero sense.

he wrote another book that I happened to pick up for a flight from miami to san diego. horrid. full of incredible technical errors, and a weak premise as well.

It's merely OK. If you think it's a masterpiece it's prolly 'cause you're not too bright and the shit in the book actually took you by surprise. No knew ideas in the book. It is definitely geared towards getting adapted into a movie.

Angels and Demons was horrible until the ending which was actually pretty good. But the first 2/3rds read like a "bodice ripper" (romance novel).

I wouldn't be surprised if this guy had been writing romance novels under a different name.

Over-rated.
