Amores Perros

my weekly subtitled cinema run: This week it was Amores Perros....3 1/2 stars out of 4 from me. Very raw and gritty but if someone is over sensitive to violence involving animals (especially dogs) they might have trouble with it.

There is so much good cinema coming out of Latin and South America at the moment

Well, I try to see things in London but it can be hard to since they don't play for long. However, blockbuster just started a system like netflix over in the UK and they have just about every foreign
language film I have heard of in the last 5 years and a ton of docummentries too. Barbarian Invasions is on my list..just a matter of working through the ones that are before it.

Incredible movie. You'd also see "Motorcycle Diaries", based in the diaries of Che Guevara

I'm glad you are enjoying films from Latin America.

This side of the hempisphere has the Americas. But Latin America is central America, South America, and the caribbean. It's very beautiful. I hope you get to that part of the world some day.

Ya it's a good movie same thing with Y Tu Mama Tambien. I think there are good movies out there, the problem is they are not properly promoted.

I think the problem is that they don't have the money to be mass promoted.

I've really started getting into foreign filmes over the past couple of years. They best Hollywood films almost every time.

yeah, being born and raised in the United States I am familiar enough..just not always sure how the region divides up in as much as central america being panama, etc and then after that it is just South America in my head. Which is horrid, I know but geography and cultures is my thing so I will learn
