    generating thumbnail from video file ? can gd to this ?

    Hello,

    I am looking for a PHP script to generate thumbnail from a movie file (.AVI, .MOV, .MPEG, .MPG, .WMV, etc...).

    Ideally, the file will be "remote" (hosted on another web server than the
    PHP script).

    Any idea ?

      How do you plan on knowing which frame to pull? This could turn out real bad, so I doubt there is anything to do this for you.

          I have not heard of any such beastie.

          If the file is a .vob: I use Power DVD for the captures and a batch in PS for the thumbs.
