I need a new Plasma .. Ideas?

Am thinking of getting this one

The Panasonic Plasma TH-50PX25U/P features a high contrast ratio of 3000:1, making for a super bright, razor-sharp picture. With 1024 x 768 lines of resolution, the Panasonic TH50PX25UP is High Definition Television (HDTV) capable, and includes an integrated ATSC/QAM tuner for receiving HDTV broadcasts.

Make sure you get a Plasma that is HDTV ready. Might be a bit more costly, but its worth it. I got 2 plasmas, and they are both HD ready.

i have a 47" wide screen hdtv already, so I wouldn't want to go without it now. Not that alot of shit looks better but certain shows on abc look awesome and when they do hockey it's much better as you get to see alot more of the ice.

Looks like a winner to me! I had a Hitachi 42" Plasma for a while, but I decided to sell it. I'm back in the market for another one as we speak.

only reason to get a hdtv is the higher resolution on the plasma.

No plasma advice here. I don't have one, but I have had a few big screens over the years and Panasonic is the worse brand going when it comes to standard TV's.

I don't know if they have improved over the years or if they are only dealing with the high end market in plasma, but my experience with the Panasonic brand has been shit!

I got an SVA plasma screen off Amazon.com.

It's 42 inches, HD, has built in speakers, and retailed for $1999. It also comes with a base station if you just want to set it on top of something. Wall mount not included.

The thing is heavy as hell but so far has worked great. Picture looks good, and no problems thus far.

I was surprised on the price since the cheapest Non-HD 42" plasma I've found is around $2400.

It's not a big brand name, but it's also not priced like one.

Regardless give it a look see.

in plasmas panasonic is one of the top, they are one of the few that make their own glass pannels
