Justice Department cracks down on Internet crime.

Here's an interesting artice I found on CNN.

"The message is simply this: P2P or peer-to-peer does not stand for 'permission to pilfer,"' ass cro ft told reporters.

Isn't he clever?

Details of "Operation Slam Spam" were expected to be announced Thursday, according to the marketing group and a federal law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity. Justice Department officials declined to comment.

That doesn't sound too good for some of you guys.

Other cases in the crackdown involve pornography and use of spam, or unsolicited e-mails, to infect computers with viruses.

Are they talking about spyware?

Discuss.

I think this is a effort to rid out spammers, not too sure about spyware, although I havent heard nothing about it.

Spyware I doubt; I think spam is their number 1 priority since everyone uses email.

You cant walk around fuckin millions of computers up and not end up in serious trouble, someone is going away for a long time.

Good. That shit has reached epidemic levels and it's not as easy to get rid of as spam emails are.

I actually see this as a good thing. Maybe 10 years from now we'll be able to surf without having to worry about viruses, spyware, exploits, spam, etc. One of the rare cases where I strongly support governmental control.

Spyware didn't exist back then and Napster didn't hit the scene until 1999.
