I have an in-law who had that very thing happen to him, and was later found to be the victim of a pissed off bitch. Luckily he didn't spend 22 years in prison first. But real rapes happen every day. What happened to that man is very sad, and shows the inequality of our justice system, but I just had to laugh at your comment that "women are monsters" because of this article. A guy from Maryland did 20 years for Rape. Was finally cleared with DNA evidence. He was awarded $14 per month he was in jail, so he only got a little bit over $3k in damages, and another guys with the same situation didn't get anything because the state he was in doesn't pay any restitution.

                                                                                                              So the lesson there is don't go around stealing things out of people's houses, cars, and shops or else you just might get blamed for something you did not do.

                                                                                                                              Gonna have to disagree. Women use "rape" as an escape for being sluts. Not all women but most. Most likely they THOUGHT he was the guy and were wrong, which happens all too often in witness identification. They were obviously rapped, given the DNA evidence.                                                                                                                                                                                   This is a huge problem and you can see how it relates to cases like Kobe Bryant. In a classic he said she said, the man gets locked away for 22 years even though he's innocent. It happens far too often (the article even points out the scientist who filed the DNA exonerated another convicted rapist). If a woman decides to cry rape when you're innocent, you're in deep trouble and the cloud will hover over you forever. On the other hand, when a rape really does occur, it's difficult to prove that it did, if there isn't much damage, and rape can occur easily without much physical force. So what is a rape victim to do?

We'll never get all of them right. But at least this case was cut and dry. If the guy's DNA wasn't present on the victim, he obviously wasn't the one raping her.

It's documented fact yet the court system continues to use it as a basis for cases, and it's hard as a judge or jury to look a victim in the eye and say, you're wrong, the person you say you saw raped you, is likely not the person who really did.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  I don't know how those women must feel. The real rapist has been having fun the past 22 years while this guy was wasting away for doing nothing wrong.

No question. But the fact is that most "date rapes" come down to a decision by the woman.
