security isn't very good there either, i heard on the news last week that goldan palace got some more exposure during the games. They they can't stop a guy in a blue dress then i don't know how they would would stop somebody who is willing to die to kill others.Comment

More tickets have been sold than in Barcelona and Seoul (close to 3mil). This pic is not taken during the olympics and yes there are still many empty spaces. Certain sports don't get the attention of people. Tickets are not overpriced. At least for me they look very cheap. Gymnastics is the only exception of expensive tickets and some of the finals.
On Saturday I went to watch australia vs p.rico at 9 in the morning and then serbia vs spain. All tickets were sold and costed 15euro for both games (so that's about 8euro/game). I didn't manage to find a ticket for beach volley, the rest basketball games of greece and weightlifting. I know I can find tickets for badminton, baseball, softball, shooting and archery but i don't like them and this seems to apply for the rest. Overall I would say more tickets were sold than expected after the bs media propaganda for over a year that possible Al Queda will hit Athens, security is not good and avenues won't be ready.Originally posted by rayadp05Comment

The thing is you can find any possible reason to bitch about the Olympics and often have a valid point and that's due to the size of the event. Media do their job and try to bring news to satisfy their audience and play their own political games, but it's up to you as individual to have the brain and filter them.
The last week all news station were saying that two Greek sprinters avoided to pass the anti-doping exam which is 100% true. None of them said though that Greene didn't appear on the Olympic village to pass the anti doping tests on time and did it days later. US basketball team blackmailed not to attend the games if they had to pass anti doping tests like the rest players...and finally the most hilarious: When the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) employees went to Crete island (a week ago too) to visit some of the US atheletes and have them pass the tests their trainers called the police and had them arrested as possible terrorists. With that way they found the opportunity to escape specific atheletes and avoid the unexpected tests.
