For an obvious reason everyone is going for .com and they shall not have dashes either etc..

But generic .us with high Overture numbers (for the term, not the domain itself) may be worth SOMETHING too? Granted much, much less than the same in com but still...?

I don't like .us (or .biz, .info, .ws, .name)

In my opinion it was a stupid idea to create those TLDs. It should never have been done.

I buy domains expecting to make my money back in 1-2 year, so 50-100% ROI from typeins.

I don't really enjoy speculating on potential value from selling the domain later, I want cash now, but that's just my general risk aversion.

I also don't like bidding for domains against other domain pros, there's plenty of domain owners people who don't see what domains fetch on pool for example.
You have to find them though.

You interject with this statement? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

How is this a compelling arguement, wow you double your money - Which is great, cool double your money. But can you provide the type of volume it would take to make yourself a living, by doing this? Think bigger, you're too confined to this limited mentality.

The hardest thing in the domain biz is not buying, but selling your precious domains.

Once you get hooked it's very difficult to part with your properties.

It's like art collecting. You fall in love with your paintings and no matter how much you get offered you just don't want to let go of them.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

You wouldn't believe the offers I've turned down on some of mine and its only going to get worse when we do TV this fall.

:helpme

I am finding this is becoming true for me as well.I have just had offers for vfl.com aom.com and triple.com for more than I had originally hoped for but somehow I can't stand to let them go even though they are completely undeveloped.
By the way I make about $400,00 per year from developing domain names. There are more than a few ways to make money off domains.

Good Call :)

Curious as to your reasoning of why it isn't of interest.

If you don't mind.. :)

Yes the statement is true, but it is unlikely to gain you much of any success in the domain game.

I got rid of all of my "good potential" names along time ago and focus on sure things.

That's just my point of view and I'm sure others do it differently and do it well.

No, that statement is for the people bitching about shit domains being sold for a lot of $$$

Generic .us are worth a lot.
I remeber that when it came out, within a month or so all the three letters were gone

How many times have i said this. Im doing this as a "hobby" in a way. Im looking more for a quick sale then actually waiting for the high end-user. Allthough i have found some, 80% of my sales are quick wholesale ones
