WTF!?!?!? -- German cars more expensive in Germany than in Canada...

Im in the process of purchasing a new Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG cabriolet, and I stumbled across the GERMAN Mercedes website... Here is their pricing in EUROs

http://www.mercedes-benz.de/mbd/pdf/...209-Cabrio.pdf

72,300 Euros + taxes

.....

In Canada the exact same car goes for $110,000 Canadian dollars.

Now the exchange rate is 1 EUR = 1.60143 CAD (xe.com)

Therefore:

72,300.00 Euro = 115,783.35 Canada Dollars

Weird but cool... BTW I've managed to bargain the car down to $99,000 + $1500 delivery charge. I can't wait till I get it.

It's brand new... thats why there is a delivery charge... I posted a pic of a used car just to post a pic.

Damn the top is funky... Press a button and everything starts opening up and setting up and shit for the roof to open up.
20 sec later its open... and you dont touch a thing.

Name brand Italian pasta is cheaper here than Italy.
It's like that for many N. AMerican vs. European purchases.

Yes thats true sometimes... however you wont buy a mustang in Europe for $20k.... you will pay $30-40k for it.

Simple reasons:

1) 16% VAT in Germany, not sure how much in Canada, but I bet its less.

2) Car prices depend a lot on the status they have in the country they are sold in. You can go to east europe and buy the car even cheaper, although its just a few hundred miles away.
