Do you need a new soundcard to use 5.1 speakers

I got these 5.1 Speakers and I was wondering do I also have to buy one of the newer soundcards or will my 5 year old Creative SoundBlaster ISA (dont ask) do the trick?

A 5.1 capable sound card is very cheap these days.

I don't think yours will do it.

does it have to say "5.1 compatible" or something like that or will any of the newer ones do it?

I'm really not sure to be honest. I'd imagine it will say it on the box though. I'm using an Audigy 2 with 5.1 speakers no problem.
