Well, I know who I won't be taking bids from should I ever need design work done...
I've been in this business for over a decade now, and I'll admit that there were times I messed up when I was barely out of my teens, just starting out and slightly overwhelmed by it all.
For example, I was writing a peice of software called TTS and, due to a large one-day rush of orders, I took in money from a person but never delivered the software. It wasn't a huge sum, something around $250, but of course I took every measure possible to ensure this person's satisfaction when I realized my error... emphasized, I took every measure possible. I didn't deliberately leave it to someone else, especially not the person I had slighted.
I'm a firm believer that how you treat your business associates reflects directly on your personal being. Incompetence can be forgiven: people can learn. Arrogant abrogation of responsibilities that require an attitude adjustment to repair is something altogether different, and I'm not someone who's willing to gamble my money on whether or not that adjustment has been made. :2 cents:
