I need a few computer parts..
Well, there is no topic for this one..
Does anyone out there have an old socket 7 mother board AT Form. which holds sdram, at least 3 pci slots? Also a good used processor. at least a 233? Preferrably for free. Trying to get the kid to stay off mine so I can try and get a little work done. :P |

I have Intel 440LX and Asus i440BX (And I still use my 486DX2/66 as a linux print server)
Why not buy a real boxen for your kid? You can get cheap ones for like under 700$ CAN and they have better hardware. How old is he/she? ------------------ wiZd0m Fortune Pussy Adult Links |

LOL, I would not buy anything for him now. He is 18 and needs to get a job. I just wanted to fix something up so he would leave my system alone. I have an old 100mhz with 8 meg of ram around here. lol. I SHOULD make his lazy ass get on there so he wants to get a job.
Anyway, other them him using it and my 8 year old daughter who comes over sometimes. It would probably just sit. As far as good computers, yeah, I know what $700 a buy, thing is, I build systems and repair systems here and there on the side. But I just have not had to upgrade any lately or I would probably already have a motherboard. As for those $700 systems.. He.. hehe. hehehe. Always remember one thing, you DO get what you pay for. I would not buy one of those systems for my kids. I'd build them one before I wasted my money on those. My dad and step mom bought one of those, and they call me over to upgrade something here and there. The first time I opened the case and saw only like 2 pci slots.. the video and sound on the board. I lost it. Of course, they might be happy with that stuff. But someone like myself. I need to expand my system. Oh well, I don't want to burst anyones bubble who bought one of those great $700 computers. |

Hehe, I build my own systems too, but I did not think your kid (Man now) was 18, I thought you had young kids.
The other day, one of my far neighbor called for me to go see if I could upgrade her Compaq that she bought in 96 or 95 (They paid 5k for it back then). You should have seen my face when I opened the boxen, everything was on the board, everything, that was a shock. The only two things I could do is change the diskdrive or add memory (By killing her two RAM chips) Really funny. (I happend to the the neighborood tech support guy around here. Every since My mother told her friends I was good with computers, every Lady calls here everythimes they have a problem. Exept now I'm a big guy, not that kid I used to be,..) I should open a Computer store and sell them boxen, I would make a fortune with these people. Anyways, check this out, awesone stuff I have in my newer boxen. This is not the one I have now, because that one had a defect and I returned it, but it's the same shit I have in my box. and well, When I saw they were closing down, I returned that that peice of shit right away. lol It's too bad they did not have voodoo5-6000 out before they closed. I would have keeped it. Now I need my 760 SMP with two 1.3 Tbirds on it and a GeForce3 (When I can put my hand on one) to bve a happy camper. Something tells em it fucking soon because Nvidia got their new Generation Detonators our 2 days ago. So it's close, Very close ![]() ------------------ wiZd0m Fortune Pussy Adult Links |

Damn, looked like someone screwed up pretty good on that first one. lol.
I got a 10Gig Quantum Fireball that I pulled out of a Gateway I worked on which was about a year old. I need to check up on the warranty on it and see if it's still under replacement. I checked once, and the site said that it was, but I had to run the dig. program on it. But that is kind of screwed up. I plug the thing in, the computer reconizes it, it klings and klaters and the system locks because the drive is fried. I hope I can get it replaced, will not be a bad deal just for the shipping. lol. |

He's 18 and don't even want to work. lol, the only thing he does on the computer is play Golf for 6 to 8 hours at a time, drink pops and smoke my ciggs. Something is missed up about that. 6 to 8 hours playing a game that cost money, and he is not making a dime doing it? He would be lucky if I did give him one.
