An arcade!? Damn.. I thought that the arcade business was over.. Well, for most of them.

They are still strong in Japan. I think that's the only place on earth where it's still largely profitable.

you really do not know what your talking about, I am in that business and as long as you keep up with new games money just rolls in.

Yes, this is true b/c most cities have ordinances against arcades.

But, if you add food & alchohol like D&B or Jillians,,,you can skirt around the ordinance.

I still have 3 full size coin op games from the early 90's

Yep, it's amazing in Japan but you can't really compare them to the ones in other countries. I'm usually not into that stuff but when I'm in Japan I always go there.

Well, I know there are no arcades in this town.. maybe one shitty little thing that no one ever goes to.. city is 300,000..

Have things like Chucky Cheese.. but who the hell wants to go hang around a bunch of screaming kids.

We do however have 2 gamming places.. where you can go and pay an hourly fee to play network games such as, Ultimate Tournament, etc..

So maybe we are just ahead of your city in terms of what is dead, and what is in..

Arcades used to be popular because they had the good games. Now there is very little difference between games at the arcades and games you can play on your Xbox.

Not to mention Arcades trying to charge up to like a buck a play for the good games, and it's no wonder they are dying.

With $3300 for rent , I cant imagine the electric bill and its open 7 days a week .You need people to work it or you have to be there. Its not that great of a deal, also the lease only has 4.5 yrs left on it . What happens to the rent at that point?
you also cant compare this to a D&B. D&B is a whole experience with a casino type atmosphere.
