Eroticafest - what really went on?

I was looking at hotwiredcontent.....

They make money from filming backstage shit and so on, so I can see them trying to profit from the event.

Who set this shit up? Who masterminded it?

I think people want to know.

How many ladies were given "ALL ACCESS" when single guys, that didnt have girls with them, got "VIP ACCESS"

Why was there 2 different types of passes?

I smell some fucking bullshit here.

Im going to be very skeptical of the sponsors who threw this party. Can they be trusted with my traffic? Im leaning to....

probably not

Usually when you go to these events, there are several different classes of passes. This is nothing new, and I am sure it will continue

i got in around 11pm'ish with 2 guy friends of mine. we all had VIP passes & got ahead of like 30+ people & got in.

we didnt know that people couldnt get in until someone we knew called us saying they wouldnt let people in (VIP or not...).

then we saw non-internext people come in, took over our VIP booth we were sitting in, the drinks were $9 (not free as advertised), shots were $10, the drinks downstairs were $12 and had almost no alchohol in them, the "nude wrestlers" were clothed, Ron Jeremy came on stage for about 2 min's then left, they looped some gay ass 10 second video on the big screens, the were no limo's, i think they even stopped running the busses from the hotel to the show (i was in a rental car so i dont know..) , people couldnt get in because of a dress code that was not announced to us. theres more, but you get the drift.

I dont disagree with you.

But, personally, i think we were used.

girls were given "all access" passes, in hopes they would find there way backstage, to end up as free content for hotwirednetworks.

The adult industry was used to attract locals to pay $40 a ticket to get in the show.

all around BS!

It was one big pile of dogshit.... We arrived to find a massive fucking que and VIP access people like ourselves not being allowed in and having to wait with like 300 people with the majority of them 300 being locals..

Me and andy said fuck it and caught a taxi back to the hotel and left scott to go in. Next day, scott said it was fucking even shitter in side.

I dont' think this is 100% accurate. While I was at the gigacash booth picking up my VIP pass, they were handing out generic "tickets" to anyone who was not on a list. As a matter of fact, there was a guy begging GigaChris for one and he kept saying no and trying to pawn off the ticket to him.

At least that is just waht I saw, dunno what happned when anyone else was at the booth.

Also I saw just as many males as I did females with the All Access passes. Now I can't blame them for giving the All Access passes out to the hotties, as who do you really think the bands/"special" people want around them.

by the way, i never said, ONLY girls, were getting "all access" passes. Guys who had girls with them, were getting "all access" passes as well.

It was the same at the front door. Girls were finding it easier to get in, and guys with girls were also finding it easier to get in. Guys without girls, and non attractive girls, were left out.

I understand, thats clublife for you, but this wasnt about a club event. It was advertised to us, as a webmaster event.

Dont you also find it odd, that none of the big sponsors are commenting on the situation?

Some of the sponsors- from the posts on the boards- seem to be just as blind sided as the rest of the webmasters. I would wait for the dust to settle before burning any bridges.

Just my .

The sponsors have a reason to be pissed off. You do not. Disappointed and miffed, yes. But for you to keep ragging on the sponsors, most of which have paid thousands of dollars to hold an event for YOU, is absolutely ridiculous.

I meant to say "some" of the sponsors.

Im aware that epic cash, got screwed.

I also read a post, by someone claiming to be a sponsor, that they had no idea there were "all access" passes given out.

I didnt mean all sponsors.

Id like to see some comments from the big sponsors. Where are they?

I can only imagine if sponsors got screwed by the club, then reading posts from unhappy webmasters, they probably think were all being a little ungrateful.

But i havent seen any statments from any of the major sponsors, nor do i plan on it.

Oh well, Im done commenting on all of it.

fuck that.

did you fucking go?

were you treated like shit? did you get pushed around by bouncers? ignored by the bartender? told to get up off the couch in the vip area, becuase you didnt buy a $300 bottle of alchohol?

do read all my posts? obviously not.

I dont blame all of the sponsors. I blame some. They knew we were going to be mixed with general public. they knew drinks were $10 a peice. They didnt tell any of us that, and I would have rather spent my evening doing something else.

I took guests to the convention. I paid for plane tickets, hotel rooms, food, and then had to pay ungodly prices for alchohol at the mansion to keep my guests happy.

It is not ridiculous for me to complain. Thats how it works. It goes up the chain of command. If the club is 100% responsible, then the sponsors reading posts from unhappy guests, should warrant enough action to make a public statement, or they should sue the fucking club.

If I held an event, I would want to know how my guests were treated, especially if I spent thousands.

fuck it, im done.

KB you seem to be forgetting that most of us are webmasters that are lucky if we get out of the house once every 2 weeks. Going to these shows is our version of getting out. You seem to be a club oriented kind of guy and I would imagine you hit clubs in every city you visit. People like us don't know the club scene, what to expect, or what the expectations are... especially when we're led to believe it's a webmaster event.

At the Players Ball in Las Vegas I had my badge on, guess I looked like an idiot. At the clubs in Atlanta I wore my badge, nice jeans, and a nice shirt... guess I was an idiot there as well.

Exactly.

South Beach, NYC, and LA Clubs, unless you're Hugh Hefner with 7 playmates in tow, if you think you can cruise on in without taking care of the bouncers and all the other bullshit, just cause you're an adult so called VIP, you're in la la land.

That's why I had the post the other night saying how ridiculous this whole VIP thing for porn guys. Come on get real. Hefner is the only one that is a real VIP in the adult industry, that can just walk in any club anywhere 1 2 3 and that's it. Larry could too, but some places would probably even give him a hassle.

Just for the record. I think the people wearing the Players Ball passes around their necks at the Players Ball are the cool looking ones. I'm all for any extra support the sponsors get, names on the passes around their necks is great expsoure. And it gives sort of a backstage pass sort of look with the lanyard strap.

I will never let someone feel stupid for wearing that at one of my parties, I reward that and applaud that. Plus, we have more of a big concert feel, so wearing passes at a Ball is probably different then hitting a club night in a hip club. I see KB's point, but for my man Sly, you look cool at a Players Ball wearing the pass and badge, but only if the badge has a pass in it.

KB is right . If you go to mansions website they throw huge parties all the time . I mean the bouncers didnt even know about this event till the day of the event. I know this cause I go to mansion on a regular basis and I talked with them about it and they didnt believe me till they seen the wresteling ring setup when they came to work.

Also if you think we (Hotwired-Rwg) Made out well your wrong .
We filmed nothing . We had the cameras rolling for about 10 minutes in the club and they shut us down . We were getting girls nekkid and the clu didnt like it .

I still do not blame lisa for any of this , I was there with her for the whole scene and I blame it on the venue. South Beach is south beach it wont change. And if you come from someplace else expecting vip treament because of a badge your wrong .

Ive been living here since September and still get treated like shit at mansion . This is why I go to crobar instead like I did sat night after they stopped us from filming.

it is the promoters responsibility to ensure the club knows what's going on
they have to keep in constant contact and make sure things are going as well as possible (things never go 100%, it just doesn't happen)

as a former concert promoter, I can tell you it's not an easy job to put something like this together, however, that's where contracts are SO important. EVERYTHING expected of the club should be in writing. Everything needs to be signed in triplicate if need be. I learned this the hard way promoting a festival show and a competitor called and cancelled our portapotties (which means no show because the health department will shut you down) and switched our security force because we didn't have all of this in writing and have someone assigned that those specific tasks.

This is where the PROMOTER of the event needs to take charge. They should have had someone outside watching the line constantly. Theyy should have had a club official with them at all times to make sure everything went as smoothe as possible.

The promoter should have told everyone there was a dress code at the club (this was a bitch of mine at one of the first Players Balls at club C2K) and kept sponsors informed of everything as much as humanly possible.

If you are a promoter, you need to take care of your sponsors and attendees before even thinking about partying. Being a promoter is a job and requires putting up with a lot of bullshit.

supersmack, I think some of your anger is misguided. These problems are the promoters fault and not that of the sponsors who paid a lot of money for an event their own people couldn't seem to enjoy.

That's the shitty world of a promoter....if everything runs smoothe, you're an unsung hero and if it doesn't, you're a total bastard that everyone hates ;-)

When I worked for clubs in Manhattan and in the Hamptons, if we had people doing a special event, there was a liaison that would be taking care of it from the club's end, to make sure the client having the party was getting what they paid for.

Sure, it was a typical Miami club atomosphere on a busy night but I've never seen such an unprofessional attitude from a club that's supposedly so "high-end".

Sorry KB , but you are full of shit on this one! The passes were handed out to people who perhaps deserved to be treated as such. The event was supposed to be a Webmaster event. So the passes should have been honoured by club staff

yup, a club liaison is your best friend (or should be)

I didn't attend the party nor do I know all of what went on aside from what I've seen posted on boards....but from that, my opinion is that there weren't enough people assigned to the event.

If Lisa was expected to do everything on her own, then that can be way too much responsibility (especially if it's her first time doing such an event). There should have been a ground crew of some sort. There should have been a liaison overseeing things for the club. I'm amazed that D-Money is able to pull off some of the things he does with the Player's Ball with such a small crew (unless there area lot of behind the scenes guys). I've given them flack over the years, but understand what a huge undertaking somthing like that can be.

It seems to me, as an outsider, that it was just too big of a project for one person to handle. Add in a live band and it can be even more difficult because now you are dealing with bands and their riders and making sure they are taken care as well as sponsors, attendees, support staff and even the club employees.
