200 completely unsatisfied webmasters and sponsors! :Graucho
|
Thats a shame what happened. a few things.
One unless this Lisa person throws events for a living , I wouldnt blame her. Second I would of picked the least popular club in Miami, the owner would of treated you like gold. The hottest club in town doesnt need you , so they feel they can take your money and say fuck you. Third the dress code should be very clear and all webmasters should been told to be there early. Just a thought did the hotel have a ballroom. You had the whole hotel . Why not throw a kick ass party there and the bullshit would of been to a min. |

Kind of backfired on them... |

I know Lisa was one of the points of contact, but I am curious when Alec Helmy is going to pop back into this thread and make an official statement like he did on the last thread when 6 sponsors suddenly went to 9 with this event.
Lisa is only an employee, and definitely not a party promoter...but the buck doesn't stop with her. Where is the official Helmy Enterprises statement? Is it in another thread I have missed? |

Our area was not roped off for all intents and purposes. It was so fucking crowded I had to get out of there too, it also took me twenty fucking minutes and an encounter with yet another rude rude rude staff member to get the fuck out of there and to an area where I could breathe. The bus ride was horribly long but I doubt you can lay blame on anyone there, mind you Media was none too happy about the transportation situation being he was expecting a limo....... Once we were back at the hotel, eating pizza and chatting it was much much more comfortable - keep in mind I am 35 years old and don't care much for the "scene" to begin with; I went cause Media wanted me too, no other reason. Trey, I knew you'd be fucking livid, sorry it sucked! |

We had a "secret shopper" sent to our club by the liquor board last month. Fortunately all of our staff is very strict with the ID policy. |

How hard is it to carry a little card? |

In my opinion if you can't get it together to wear decent clothes, and bring an ID to a party ...
You simply don't deserve to be invited. Am I too assume there were so many newbies in FLA that no one had been to an event like this one before? |

yea, we were waiting outside of the club for close to an hour. The prick bouncers in their little shiny suits were ignoring most of the webmasters completely but let in every local yokel Miami girl and buddy of theirs left and right.
Finally, after about 45 minutes of waiting, I ask my designer Chris for his camera - I scroll through to the pic I took of him with Ron Jeremy earlier at the hotel - I hold the camera up to the prick's face and say - "look, we're part of this show - Ron's gonna be pissed if you don't let us in" haha, a little name dropping works every time. One minute later we're in the club. :1orglaugh |
Well I defintately had problems with the gig but not as many as others.
1) The girl I went with didn't have ID. Luckily we were old enough that they didn't even ask for it. 2) I was supposed to get All Access pass but only ended up with a VIP pass. Not to sure it would have made much difference. 3) The drinks were ridiculous and the service sucked. Thanks to CJ from hotmovies.com I got at least one free drink. 4) The event should not have been held at a venue that mixed industry people with non industry people. This lead to the overcrowding and the fact that industry people weren't let in. 5) Again luckily I was dressed appropriately but had no idea this was at a club. I thought it was a private venue and certainly didn't expect a dress code. Had no reason to believe otherwise. 6) The Naked women of wrestling weren't naked. 7) I didn't see Ron Jeremy 8) The bus ride was far too long. 9) A friend had regular passes and waited in line an hour and a half after which he gave up and took the buses back. This should be a lesson to anybody trying to book a venue in the future. I'm not putting the blame on Gigacash entirely but more planning was definately in order. |
Having read this entire thread, I'm stoked that I was with people who didn't bring dress shoes and therefore couldn't get in.
Note to the city of Miami - you are about 2 decades late in trying to catch up to Studio 54. Too much posturing, leave that shit to the music business - let's just have a great fucking time! Whoever said the party should have just been in a suite upstairs at the Westin, and you should show a muscleman your room key to get in --- that would have been brilliant. Next time, sponsers should boycott the parties unless they are being held in a way that the sponsors agree with - I suggest we boycott unless... 1) Parties are held in a nice private place somewhere in the hotel 2) No public let in, unless you are naked and female. 3) No money spent on decorations, bands, djs, etc. - just tons of free booze, a clutch of hookahs stocked with herb and 2 go-go dancers to every guest. PS - with the exception of the few gogo dancers and the bald guys hanging from hooks, the party the night before was a complete flop as well. |

I think its odd, how no major sponsor wants to even touch this thread.
I feel used. Did sponsors profit from this? I paid for plane tickets, hotel rooms, internext passes, and then had to cough up even more money to party at an event that was supposedly sponsored. The whole thing seemed like a sham from the start. EroticaFest? V.I.P. passes, ALL ACCESS passes. Cmon. Carmen Electras Naked Woman of Wrestling was not naked. Naked is fucking naked, and there was no naked, let alone Carmen Electra. Nothing was as described. Do you think, if you were told, they were mixing you with general public, that you would have gone? Fuck, I almost felt like i was part of the show. LOL!!!! :) |
It's hard to believe people get sucked into the VIP Party hype so easily year after year. And the same shit always happens.

but yea, that was fucked up on so many levels. Ron Jeremy didnt even know he was gonna be there, he left Cheeta's to do a 2 min apperance and then went back :1orglaugh the wrestlers were NOT nude, $12 for drinks downstairs, $9 drinks for VIPS ( :eek7 ), people from the streets took over VIP and snorted fuckin coke all night, Alien Ant Farm was the only MTV-worthy band, wtf was that 20 second video they looped over and over again for hours??, when i was driving by i heard the bouncers turning away the sponsers and the sponsers yelling back being (rightfully!!!) pissed off, no message of dress code, where the fuck were the limos???......... it was a complete mess. :2 cents: |
nothing like wearing dress shoes to a rock show!
|
We were a sponsor for this party, there was no "all access pass" we did as a sponsor get a private table that sat 4 people.
We weren't informed at all about a dress code, I did luckly dress in pants myself, but being in florida I'd have thought shorts would be fine. We were told we'd get banners I believe on hanging at the club, not just a video loop ever so often with our logo. We were told magnets with our logo would be on the transportation. That didnt happen either. Basically we as a sponsor got fucked hard. |
The party was indeed fucked up, but two very large thumbs up for Pattye and the rest of the Epic Cash crew for taking care of us and doing their best to give their guests a good time. If it wasnt for Epic Cash we wouldn't have gotten drunk at all :winkwink:

she's in a dress with no purse..._I_ carry her fucking ID. Not only is it easy, its the fucking gentlemanly thing to do. Unless you were wearing a dress... |
Shit I haven't heard a single positive thing about this night...what a clusterfuck
|
Hey Anna (i thought your name was sarah, the whole time, sorry I miss heard it)
Anyway - I just gotta throw in a props to Patte and Epic Cash for the liquor and the Passes. I was suppose to have some from a couple other sponsors - but they were the ones that saved the day. Still ended up having to bribe bouncers just to get up and down the stairs - even though it was an "all access" pass |

Hi Produce the Naked Women's Wrestling League... They told me when I arrived that my girls could not get naked... I wasted about $50,000 on that shit party... Thank god I didn?t blow that cash on bringing Carmen? But it all seemed so disorganized and she charges big money!
They fucked us around till 2:00 before the show started... The crowd of locals assaulted my wrestlers... pelting them with ice and lemon wedges... I have it all on tape... I have already commenced litigation! Just a bunch of cokeheads! I was thrown out of the club for complaining vocally to the club manager... I WILL FILE A LAWSUIT... this is not over! The naked women's wrestling league fighting fully clothed... I am so embarrassed and angry; I have no idea what to say? My guest list was all turned away? No booze at my table? You can have tickets to any of our events? And you will be treated appropriately? The NWWL will get naked on US soil in LA in October? And your all invited! I assure you all? Call me directly? Thanks for trying to calm me down too when all the shit outside happened.. I gotta admit that steve from helmy also did do a good job of keeping me cool when those idiot bouncers started to piss me off.. I felt bad for GigaChris, he looked like he was stressed beyond his limits, me and him are good friends.... Xpays Evan told me someone hit him in the head with an icecube on the way to the restroom and he turned around and left the club.. that sucks to hear.. This whole thing is a mess, lots of people are pissed, I had people tell me that I did good when I yelled and made a scene because they wanted to do the same thing but didnt.. Anyways I just got home, it's 4:47am and I am fucking beat... |
any response from Gigacash/Xbiz yet p1mp ?
|
this is amazing. Gigacash = Fucked.
|
I'm a bit suprised of the lack of responses from those that were in charge of organising this Fiasco.

Some of the later responses concerning the behavior at this club are shocking to say the least. I certainly never want to go there or to Miami if thats the kind of behavior you can expect from establishments and local citizens. It sounds like you were all at some sort of high school party gone wrong.

Thanks for the hook up. You met my group at the door, and walked us in the back door. You got us set up at a VIP table, and we had a great night. We stayed till they turned the lights on... After being at the Diplomat for three days and two nights, it was nice to take a trip down to South Beach. Mansion is one of South Beaches hottest clubs right now, so I kinda figured it was going to be crazy. That's why I went. It was too bad they wouldn't let Terry film in there, but hopefully Terry is compensated for missing out on that oppurtunity. I am sure that was one of the main reasons he sponsored this event. We had a good time, but most of the webmasters we were trying to meet there never made it into the building... |

As someone who wasn't a sponsor, but got alot of "Our" people in at the door for the first half an hour (before the bouncers made me go inside), I'm just gonna see what transpires and IF I deem it necessary, I'll post another, unbiased version of this story. I spoke with both the club owner and Stephen and know for a fact that there are two sides to this story that will probably never be made public. |
Damn sounds like someone really dropped the ball on this one.

It was a fuckup....
Shouldn't have been at that venue, no one from the show really cares that its the hottest club in south beach. Wm's want a couple free drinks and to see some titties from what I've seen in my years in the biz. They didn't have either of those from what I've heard. We wasted about two hours ... oh well. |

you were a sponsor and your telling me there were no "all access" passes? are kidding me? what kind of fucking spin are trying to put on this? There were infact 3 different types of passes. ALL ACCESS, it was printed in big letters, right on the fucking pass. VIP ACCESS, PAPER TICKET |
