Thumb TGPs: 2257 Solutions.....

I have been talking to a few webmasters about this new 2257 stuff and a few solutions came to mind that have been talked about before.

1. Keep the Records
This seems so unbelievably complicated that I have rendered this out of the question.

2. Use only Non-Explicit thumbs
Probobly what most US-Based thumb tgp owners are doing. I have yet to find any specific guidlines. I have heard that naked pictures with no hardcore action should be fine, but it has not been confirmed yet.

3. Transfer ownership to an overseas friend
I wouldn't consider this plausible unless you really trusted this friend.

4. Host thumbs on different server
This is what I was planning on doing. Even Sixzeros (Comus Thumbs Author) said something to the effect of providing a service for Comus users to remotely host on a overseas server. A webmaster just told me this will not work. Just goes to show you how naive I am.

5. Convert to Text TGP
Probobly what quite a few of tgps are doing.

Need to really drive #4 home to some people. It's amazing how after all the discussion that's taken place how many people still pop up and brush off everything with an "I'll just host offshore" response.

Sounds like you should have attended the "Legal Roundtable" in Hollywood yesterday. Three of the industries most prominent attorneys spent nearly 2 hours speaking and answering questions on this topic. They did an excellent job of clarifying common misconceptions about the new regs and explaining the potential impact of those regs, including how they may relate to Thumb TGP?s. I?m pretty sure all the seminars from the show will be available at avnonline. I highly recommend you take a look there!

You may be suprised to know that there are FBI offices in Canada. Just being Canadian is not enough my friend. I you use a US host, domain registrar, sponsor, billing service, etc. you can still be targeted and face a 5 years prison term for just hosting a little "sexualy explict" thumb on your Thumbs Preview TGP...

My guess would be that you should be fine since you are already EU.
Haven't heard anything about having to have your processor, registar, etc all overseas-based...
