In the past the police have been called a number of times when she is drunk and harassing me. Once more should get her arrested, but I think she has learned that she can?t get in my face. As for the law on settling property after a relationship ends, there is a lot of confusion out there.

In Ontario, it is only property acquired during the relationship, and increases in value of property, that are subject to division. What I had when we met is mine, and what she has is hers. There is no sharing of that. An exception, if you are married (not common law) is the matrimonial home. That is split, as my father discovered to his chagrin.

She has a much greater financial delta over the time we have been together than I do. I can thank Nortel for a lot of that. But, if it gets nasty, I can sue her for cash.
