ONE TIME ANNOUNCEMENT: Official release of 2257 record keeping software

ANNOUNCEMENT: Official release of 2257 record keeping software

mxDevelopment.com is proud to release our latest product - 2257 Register.

2257 Register will provide the webmaster with the ability to add all performer records into a single database along with acceptable documentation files, acceptable photo identification images and a corresponding thumbnail image per model. In addition 2257 register organizes all records alphabetically for
quick searching and cross refrencing when needed.

2257 Register includes a viewable and editable "record book" which is sorted in alphabetical order for quick viewing of matching records based on the starting character of the models name. The record book also allows the webmaster to edit the models information.

For cross refrencing 2257 Register incorperates a multi field search which allows you to quickly lookup records based on: Model Stage Name, Model Alias, Model DOB, Name Of Scene and the URL the content can be found on.

2257 Register provides webmasters the ability to record all primary content producer information required, as well as the ability to update these records when needed.

For making additional copies of your records, 2257 Register also provides a "Printable Report" generator, which will arrange all the entered records in alphabetical order, and prepare a document with all model, primary producer and secondary producer information ready for printing.

2257 Register provides 3 levels of user access - Administrator (full access), read only and read/write non-admin, a logging facility to show each user's actions for employee audit purposes. Unlimited user accounts can be created using these security settings.

2257 Register is web based for inter-OS compatability.

Stay on top of changes with the "auto-update" feature that is included with your purchase.

Get organized today and be prepared with 2257 Register for only $120.00 USD.

I have a question about the cost/liscense... is it only for one domain, or would the $120 be for unlimited or multiple domains?

Its 120$ for the software, and can be installed on as many machines as you wish.

Good luck on this , why cant someone make like a quicken for 2257 something you can put on your computer make easy backups., thats user friendly. I assume if someone knows how to program its not a big deal.
Will you be making a windows version thats not server based? That way it can be put on a offline computer.

This can be installed on a non-production machine as well. As long as you can run perl scripts, and mysql its good to go. We have not tested it on windows but we can if needed.

We do not develop software for windows as its the most unreliable, and problematic operating system out there. Not to say the security issues are any better.

We have talked this over with many people, and feel the way we wanted to design this is the best way to go about it. Not only is it much more reliable and stable, it works for Non-Windows people as well.

Considering you can do automated MySQL backups, plus use the application over SSL, we feel this is the most reliable and adaptable solution and will not have a Windows executable.

It's a great looking program based on the information you posted, BUT......

I see no mention of a "Spider" option to import all the URL's into the program of all the pics..

With 450,000 pics, plus thumbs for preview, hosted galleries etc etc etc, i'll be damned if I can put all of those in by hand...

Does this software have such a feature, or planned in the very near future??

Tony,

You caught me right after I posted a reply about a windows version.

We will not make a public version of the software as windows applications bring a nightmare of support issues.

If you absolutly need this on windows, we can take custom personal requests.

If you are interested, shoot me an e-mail: [email protected]

Rick,

This is something that we have been pondering, and talking to other webmasters to get their feedback on the best method of importing.

Although its not in the inital release, we are working on implementing this. Each customer who buys the software gets free updates, so it works out nice.

I was lucky to get a preview of this software prior to it going up for sale. It's a pretty neat database with very simple and easy-to-use functionality, and if/when keeping the 2257 records is required I think this will be a very helpful if not essential tool.

If you guys just get some screenshots up or a demo available it'll be great for others can see it in action. I think you guys will add components onto it if there is a demand for them? somebody mentioned importing stuff which would be interesting. I know you guys do custom jobs too. Anyway, good on ya I got my copy!

Rick,

We appreciate your interest in the software. We can only put a request like this in writing once we have a working model down. By that time, there will be no need for writing as it will be a feature already

Thanks for the plug man!

You were the guy we went to when we wanted our product approved ;)

We will have the screenshots up by tomorrow, as well as an online demo which we will post.

As far as the components go, we built this software in modules, which allows us to build almost any custom feature into it, as well as integration with other products you may have.

Thanks again!!

I believe you can have off site backup records anywhere, I may be wrong. The software allows you to print a full report of all the records you enter as well, which can be kept as a physical copy. Its always best to have multiple copies anyway.

If you are using this as your primary records, and have a local machine that you can use for your record keeping, thats an option. Linux, FreeBSD, etc don't require a beast of a processor like MS does, so any old machine will be fine if you got the unix route.

If you need it on windows, as I said before, it hasn't been tested, but we can do it for a client.

Of course your server may explode, etc, but your windows could magically die on a reboot as well which is way more likely

so, you stated your service wrong then

you are an option for offsite backup records and not intended for primary records on site...on site records should be handled by the content producer or secondary producer by their own means

although you can print out the records that your program makes....which I guess is cool, but still very eaily done on your own without software

No. You can use it for off-site, or on-site, whatever you want. Its quite simple to set this up locally if you want.

If you want it on-site, simply put it on a local unix based machine, or windows. I already stated we would test it on windows if there was a buyer.

If this is something you can't do, or can't have somebody do for you, then yes, this is not the on-site solution for you.

If you want it on-site, simply put it on a local unix based machine, or windows. I already stated we would test it on windows if there was a buyer.

If this is something you can't do, or can't have somebody do for you, then yes, this is not the on-site solution for you.
Very good idea bro. Quick thinking should score you a few bucks
on this.

Best of luck with the software.

Here's a thought....if you could write a module that would export the SQL database to a spreadsheet or convert to an access database that we could keep a copy of locally, then this solution might be close to perfect.

Cool, if you get it to work definitely make an announcement.

I need to keep the records on site AND have a backup in an offsite location.

The nightmare is someone shows up to inspect records the same time my server crashes or my local ISP is having issues and I can't show them the records they want to see.
Definitely need an on site hard copy of the docs.
