I think it would be wise for some downloadable music company (pay per song system) to buy it. Of course would be good to sell discs as well. Maybe even burning software, burners, and MP3 players.. Just my thoughts..

KRL or Taboo - Want to buy that for me and I'll develop it? :)

LOL. I wish.

Go.com is owned by Disney, GoTo.com was owned by Idealab. when go.com launched and copied goto.com's color scheme (yellow/green) for the logo, idealab sued DISNEY to change colors and for $$$$$, they won and got so much money... but then Bill Gross decides, "I don't even like the name goto anymore", let's call it Overture... and he sold goto.com to go2.com.

he made out like a bandit.

LOL. i miss the bubble.

yup GOTO got either 25 or 35 million from Disney.

re: Goto.com name, i believe they got sued for trademark or something else and had to change their name.

yeah i miss the bubble a little, i made a lot of money from Goto.com
selling traffic to them, them giving me IPO shares, me cheating the system and getting 5 times as many shares as i was allowed. that was fun :)
than last few years trading overture and than getting yahoo shares.
but whatever i made, i lost out a lot more by losing our GOTO contract after only a year :(

someday, you and I have got to chat. might have a bit in common. lol. and gotta hear how you got 5 times more shares. you know those days may be back again.... incubators are at it again, VCs are out looking for ideas & domains. they say they're gonna play it different this round and be smarter... but I think there's going to be just as much money, maybe more, than before. side note, i think idealab sold their picasa pix/gallery software company to google right before google went public. those guys are the real players. :)

A smart investor can still turn a nice profit on that domain and business.

By the way, what are these guys doing? http://dvd.com/

What the heck ? That's a waste of a nice domain ...

Not that great ? 2.5k people looking to buy cds daily ...

even if you only make 1 $ profit per visitor that wants to buy cd that's like 900k a year .

Doctor Dre 08-22-2004 09:39 AM
