cheques

my family doesn't know that i'm in the adult bizz and i want to keep it that way. But if you make money (yeah some people do ) you get cheques...

cybererotica has a discrete name (voice media) on there cheques, but insite they have folders with porn on it... freenetpass has descrete ones and so does join4free.

But i'm still waiting for that day a cheque comes in the mail saying : STIFFY CASH or SEX KEY and i don't want that to happen. Please post your warning about envelops with pics/dirty words on it here.

The one i'm worried about most is sex key, anyone received a cheque from them?

unfucking believable, I can't understand why people feel they have to hide the fact that they run an adult site. I mean, do you really feel that bad about what you do that you have to hid it from your family ???? If it is such a big issue for you, please have all your checks sent to me, and I will forwarded them to you, after taking a small % for myself as a exchange fee

Come on people, if you can't tell the one's close to you that your in the adult biz, then get the fuck out!!! It's not like we sell drugs or something!

I personally love the look on the postman's face when I'm out front working in the yard, and he brings me a handfull of check's or letters addressed to the likes of ballsuckingsluts.com or one of my many other domains :>

yeah... there is nothing like walking into the local bank and cashing a check with CYBERHEAT on the top ;-)

then the stupid teller says "Man, I would love to have american checks that big ... blah blah blah..."

I swear, sometimes I just wanna finish their sentence for them and say, "but you never will cuz your working at a dead-end 9-5 job."

I guess I'm too nice for that LOL

Lol... I love the ARS cheques with the names of the sites and stats printed inside the envelope. If you turn the cheque over - the stats and site names have usually pressed onto the back of the cheque, so I rub them off with an eraser. Last thing I need is the snotty bitch cashier asking me what "Chix With Dix" is in front of a queue of two dozen people.

Also this month, CEN sent me a nice banner for Traffic Cash Gold "It's All You'll Ever Need!" with telephone and fax numbers, and address contact. My CEN cheques always have "CEN-NICHE M" written on them.

Each month Fetish Cash send a yellow banner advertising their recurring program (which sucks, btw - stick with per signup )

The most discrete I've come accross are from ccbill.com - well, they say ccbill.com but non-webmasters would never guess.

If you dont want anyone knowing that you run adult sites, just do what I do, get a P.O. Box! I'll brag to my senior buddies that I get checks in the mail but I would piss my pants if my parents found out (well my dad would probably congradulate me on easy money but my mom would be pissed...)

The only thing I'm worried about is that I got a CD changer and some pretty damn big speakers being shipped to my home adress because ARS can't ship those things to P.O. Boxes. Hehe I'm gonna have a fun time explaining where THOSE came from!

If you can't be proud of what you do, then ya shouldna be doing it. I could care less what the teller at my bank thinks of my stiffycash cheque or any other cheque that comes my way. Being a Canadian, I'm literally making a killing on the exchange rate alone, so anyone that raises an eyebrow at the company name on the cheque can suck my ass

Lens, you bet, send me a great big "go fuck yourself" cheque, the bigger the better. I'll blow my bank teller's heart up and cause her to crap her undies butt-good.

As far as being embarrassed about running adult sites, heh heh, well, for me that's a thing of the past for many reasons that I'm not going into here. Suffice it to say, I was wearing my nice new Porn-city hat the other day, and my parents were over to the house,....my mom says "wow, is that ever a nice looking hat you have there..." then she squinted and read "p-o-r-n-city" and said "wow, it's a very nice hat" ......and she meant every word

You bring a smile to my face (see). I remember years ago when I first started, I signed up for some company that ran Sex Museum, I'm sure most people who have been around for awhile know who they were. Anyway the name on their checks left no doubt what they were about. I couldn't generate traffic if my life depended on it, and they would send me checks for like 2 cents, (cuz they paid always, and on time, no matter how small), did I cash those checks? Damned right, I figured they were processing tons of these tiny checks figuring nobody would ever cash them. Now, did I actually truly cash those checks? Get real, I made my wife cash them.

Well, gosh, if you're ashamed you're in the business and you don't want anyone to know, maybe you should be selling bird feeders instead of sex. My family knows I work in an erotic area. How much they WANT to know depends on what generation they are in. My nephews are very cool with it, my sister and brother are basically understanding that at least I'm not sleeping under a bridge, my father knows I do erotic photography, but doesn't really even want to know much more. He still loves me.

Well, I am a little worried these days to cash checks from adult sponsers.

Not because I am ashamed of what I do. I am always proud when I get a sponser check/cheque.

I am worried BECAUSE I live in a small, West Texas town. I am worried because of lawsuits brought against home-based Internet businesses. I am worried as a mother, that by merely cashing a check from a sponser (that doesn't have the business acumen to give their company an ambiguous DBA name) I open myself to the whims of dissaproving cashiers.

I think it's really insensitive and just, plain unecessary for sponsors to put obviously speculative business names on their payout statements.

Once again, I must state I am proud of what I do. But, what I do for a living doesn't need to be unnecessarily prejudiced by payout checks with embarrasing company names on them.

Where I live, I am known as teh XXXmaster for everyone even my family knows I design and sale porn sites for a living. =o) but all my checks have outside names besides ARS.. I just opened a checking account at bank of america and the account agent asked me what i did for a living first i told her I sold memberships to websites, and then she smarted off that they were porn and she was joking until i told her yes.. I swore that woman became 3 inches tall. After she calm back down I handed her $1500 in checks from all my websites and she freaked once again. I swear it was the most fun ive had in a bank in ages. heh

Hey Bake - you should try Westpac. They only charge $7.50 for each batch of 4 checks. And they let me just drop them off and they do the processing and mail me the receipts.

But the best thing I ever did was to set up an account in Singapore and get all the money to me here via ATMs. The taxman would not be happy about it, but who cares?

You can open an account in Singapore via www.citibank.com.sg You'll need a bank record from Australia (or wherever you have had a bank account for a year or so) and I think the minimum was about USD20K to set it up (or maybe USD10K?? - it'll tell you on the site - look for IPB - International Personal Banking). Then you just send the wires directly to s/pore and the cheques too (or via your Australian address - that's what I do - especially since S/pore is a "banned" country for so many programs) and you withdraw the money via ATMs in Oz. You can take out AUD2K per day and there are no ATM fees.

I have used 4 different Westpac branches here. I finally found one (in the Eastern suburbs) where the manager agreed to just let me drop the cheques off and the do the processing at their leisure. I think it's up to the manager whether they allow it, because I tried to do the same somewhere else and they wouldn't let me. So I'd stand there for up to 1 hr while they did it (you know what I mean, Im sure).

Also, if you have any hassles with the bank wanting to send the big ones (usually USD5K+) for "collection") then just get them to ring head office in Sydney to get an approval number. The local manager can only approve to a limit, and after that they havta ring Sydney HO. But some of them don't know that and wanna send it for collection.
The number they should ring is 02 9767 0049. It rings out sometimes - especially around lunch time - but it does work!

Go westpac, my friend. The checks can be all different, doesn't matter. This is a new policy of theirs that came into effect around the start of 2001. They used to charge AUD7.50 per cheque, but now - as I said - it's just AUD7.50 per every 4 cheques. It really makes it worth while cashing all those $35 cheques that used to be hardly worth cashing.

The specific branch I use, by the way, is in Blackburn.

Just one more to completely clarify... So if you have 5 cheques, it'll cost ya $7.50 for the first 4, then another $7.50 for the fifth. So you're best off if you can do it in batches of 4. Oh, and *some* tellers are ignorant of this fact. Ask them to look it up in the Policy Manual. The "code" for waiving the fee on subsequent cheques is "Multiple Transaction".

StGeorge charge $5 per check..but i know what your saying Richard. Sometimes my partner and I have about 12 checks to deposit and you wait forever for them to process. Hey that Singapore account sounds interesting..but unfortunately none of my main sponsors do wire transfers. I would be abit nervous sending the large checks to Singapore for banking..knowing Aus post i would never see them again..

I was worried about it too at the start, but I have sent countless envelopes there now with no drama. And you can always send it registered mail. And on the other end I'm dealing with citibank, so they aren't some backyard bank either. They have rung me several times, and their customer service is great. And I can see the money going in via their online interface (as you do with most banks nowadays).

But wires are the way to go, tho, really. No hassle at all. I can't understand why some sponsors can't be bothered setting that up, and why the wire fees vary (from sponsor to sponsor) from USD12.50 to USD40.00 per wire!!! I know the US banking system is in a class of its own, though, so it's not surprising.

One of the worst sponsors I have dealt with is CCBill. They are the only ones where cheques have disappeared, and there is no way of telling exactly how big your cheque (or wire) should be for each week. I spoke to some guy over there, and he said he didn't know either LMAO! Incredible! They must make so much from the money that slips thru the cracks...

Posted this yesterday at another topic:

I wait anywhere from 30 to 45 days to clear US/UK checks here. And when the check comes from Canada (USD$ in a US bank) I get it in 4-7 days. When it's from US, it takes 4-10 days. Only got 1 check (about 80 bucks) from UK. I pay about 15 bucks to clear a check, sometimes $15 to clear 2 or 3 checks at the same time.
Hope to get more checks soon. The last 2 months were the worst for me, no money. Zero. Nada.

And the last 2 months were the best for traffic at my toplist.

Richard123:

Is the 10k US only to start it or is that the minimum deposit everytime you send them some checks or wires?. And how much interest do they pay on normal savings accounts?.

Thanks!

Thanks!
You have to maintain a minimum USD20K balance, or you get hit with a fee (of what size I do not know - hasn't happened so far). The original deposit size, I *think* is about USD10K. The interest is hard for me to work out - just email them and ask.

I send them all kinds of checks and wires - the smallest ones have been less than USD100. They take a cut of the check deposits as well.... They are friendly people, and I suggest yuo email them.
