Funny Conversation

I had just let my sister's dog out earlier this evening when the new neighbor lady walks up to me & says "Your sister told me you make money off your computer."

"Kinda," I replied.

"Can you help me to do it sometime? I'm home all day & I've got a computer back in December. Maybe I can make some money off it."

"Well, it's not that easy..."

"Come by sometime," she interupted. "You can show me how to make some big bucks."

"Yeah, sure..."

Then she walks off when the dog starts barking. The only thing I could think off was that she would make it big in the bbw niche (round body & nice enough face). Unfortunately, she has like four kids (a baby & the rest are under 5). Her husband is trucker & is the jealous type (so I've heard). Somehow I don't think she'll go for the adult market.

She's the second one that has approached me about making money off the computer. My friend's wife called me up a few weeks ago wanting me teach her how to make money off the internet. They needed money since his paycheck got garnished for not paying off his student loan (never borrow more than you need). When my friend told her that I worked on adult sites, she about freaked & thought better about it. However, I'm still to keep an eye out for non-adult opportunities.

Anyway, I think I'll make up a booklet called "How To Make Big Bucks Online" & start charging everybody $25 for it

$25 ? Charge $250

At college everyone asks how much I make. Most of them know I have toplists, but just some know one of them is adult. No one know sometimes I make galleries or that almost all my money comes from adult someway.

I say I have no idea how much I make. Sometimes don't have money to pay the host and bills, some months I get some more money (and pay the last month bills, hehe). When I get more $$ I say use it to pay bills or to put in the bank again (because I used what was there to pay bills, heheh).

What they think its strange is how I bought a computer, a notebook, digital cam and travel 2 or 3 weeks per year, and stuff. Bah, I had all the money in my bank account

I just love my work, love it. But I'm in a non-adult project (with adult money to get started, ofcourse).

Does she understand that you make money off sex? Perhaps she's thinking of making money with cookie recipes.

I've gotten this same line from TONS of people over the past 2 years. They all say they would absolutley love to do what I do. Soooo....... I made up a page on my mainstream site for web design services that advertises a 1-week tutorial. When I offer that to these people (for $500 bucks no less) they seem to change their tune pretty quick. Funny thing is, if they were to just pay someone to make a site for them, they'd pay much more than that. With the tutorial they get a working site plus the basic knowledge of how to run the thing.

So far I've had about 40 people express interest in making money online. Only 1 has actually seen the value of paying for this knowledge, which tells me that most people are short-sited when it comes to good business decisions.

Could I really teach someone this business in a week? Of course not, but I CAN teach them many of the great shortcuts and simple techniques I've learned to get the job done, and get them familiar with the tools we all need for design and maintenance. The rest is up to them.

I think $500 bucks is a damn good deal for what amounts to the better part of everything I've learned on my own over the last 3 years.

I agree it shouldn't be cheap. My friend wanted me to show him how to do it for nothing. Then he found out how many hours I put in on the computer. That changed his mind real fast.

With me, it's the opposite. I'll get an e-mail from some guy who tells me he wants to get into my business (pics of naked girls) and he tells me about all the equipment he has (usually several orders of magnitude more expensive than mine), but when I look at his pics, I ask myself "Who would pay for these?"

In photography, there are guys I like to call "equipment collectors." This type of guy is sure that all that stands between him and great photography is the next piece of equipment on his list.

They will write and say, "I really love your lighting. What kind of softboxes do you use?" and they are shocked and appalled when I write back to tell them that I use a combination of window light, fill flash from my camera, and flash bounced off the ceiling from a flash unit mounted on a side bracket. Total value under $1200. So much for the $3000+ they spent on studio flash units, soft boxes or umbrellas, etc.

Too bad you can't buy talent.

It is really funny. Because I know all of have been approached at one time or another. to teach somebody how to make money with a computer. most think it will be a kushy job and make bucks right away.

yes it is kushy but it is hard work and fast deals are made. When ever you have to use your brain more than your back it is really hard work. IMHO as I am a laborer by day and webmaster at night. I love working the day job just to give my mind a break.

That's pretty funny Jamdin. At college, the 5 guys I'm living with next year all know I make some decent cash from my site, and they all want me to show them how to do it. I know that it isn't going to work, because most of them are lazy and don't know anything about making websites. Unless a person is really dedicated, they shouldn't waste their time with adult sites.

Heh heh, nice post. You should see the jaws drop when I show them my automotive halogen lights I paid a whopping $40 bucks for When I bounce those 500 watters off the ceiling and add in cross-lighting from the natural sunlight outside, the result is nothing short of dick-hardening. Try to teach that to these "equipment phreaks" though? No chance, some skulls are thicker than others.
