Start -> ShutDown

"There is 12 user(s) connected to your computer, logging off may lose.. yada yada"

Luckily that was on an old PC that I was trying to get up and running, how was I suppose to know it had an old version of Sub7 installed on it.

Last time I fix a pc for a friend

My PC got hacked. Mother fucker was moving my mouse. I opened note pad and told who ever it was to fuck off. Bought a firewall and it all stopped.

Any of you websites or servers get hacked? What did you do after?

LOL!
I'm sure telling him to fuck off taught him a lesson.. secure your computer(s) from the start man.. a good rule of thumb is, always consider you computer as being hacked, nothing is 100% secure.. so make sure you are on top of updates, and anti-virus software, along with a good firewall or NAT box.

hire a security guy like me. 90% of your decicated servers arent secure i can bet that. no wonder these programs are getting hacked. their boxes should be locked down every daemon to the T.

welike to say Security is not a convenience, it is a necessity.

and we hope to talk to some people in florida about this. we dont like seeing programs down. because its a loss for everyone, including myself who promote them.

so my sales rep looks forward to talking to everyone in florida.

we just want to lookout for program owners.

I constantly see script kiddies trying to hack my server in my logs but no one's been successful. It's a .net server too.

Yep got hacked numerous times late last year and early this year.

Ended up being a vulnerable blog script that a [now ex] mate had installed on his domain that I was hosting and he'd allegedly forgotten about.

He apparently didnt notice the big red lettering on the login page which said that the script was unsecure and needed to be upgraded immediately.

Fucking idiot. Indonesian hackers had a field day - mrtg charts were quite impressive as a result.

We went top to tail over the sever/s and locked every little thing down but continually overlooked that. The amount of time and money wasted on it still annoys the shit out of me.

How often do you guys backup?

I only had someone fuck with my entry pages once. This was my own fault, I accidently left my admin page unprotected.
