Blur the license plates. Anyone can find his address, find the car, get the vin # from it, then call a dealer and get keys made. then the car is stolen.

Originally posted by Nismo yes, this happens all the time. alot of the cars you see on forums or on websites featuring car shows always have the plates blurred for a reason.
What's the point in blurring? people are gonna see his car everyday, and can check out the plates..then again, there might be some pros actually searching forums for this exact reason....

So should I blur my plates on my car too? Maybe paint over them... if I get pulled over I will just tell the cop that I did not want someone stealing my car. There are millions of cars driving around on the streets each day with their license plates exposed, why would someone go to the trouble to steal that car, over the internet? When someone down the street from him could come and bust out the window and be gone in 2 seconds?

thats just stupid
what difference does it make to have the licence plate seen while driving on the road or on a picture on the board
276HP, 275lb-ft, and thats measured at the flywheel. More power is lossed through an all-wheel drivetrain, and most stock evo's dyno in at 240 whp and torque lossed through the drivetrain would be similar.
The STI still has a one-up on it in my opinion, however, I prefer the looks of the evo, so I'd take the evo (mostly because its got the venerable 4G63 engine)

stock its actually 271hp, and this particular car was stock for about 2 weeks.

Still doesnt take away from the fact that all car companies measure HP and torque at the flywheel, which is why cars always dyno in less then what the company says they make.

Drivetrain loss is a bitch
Thats 100% correct. I dyno'd this car a couple of weeks ago and hp was ~305 (at the wheels). Thats with some minor tuning and parts. I just picked up some new parts for the car yesterday and its gonna take that number closer to 400 (at the wheels).
This is why I love turbo cars, they react to mods like V8s.
(ROUGH estimates)
turbo + new exhaust = ~20hp
v8 + new exhaust = ~25hp
honda + new exhaust = 2hp;
