Talking about Old Porsche's

I spent sunday at a vintage car show at one of the local winerys.
about 25 of us met up at the local dealership for a cross-country cruise to the show.

I was driving my turbo carrera and had a helluva time keeping up with the guys in the 50 year old 356's

After about a 90 minute ride,we arrived at the vineyard, my car is the red 911 3rd from the right.

Here is a nice shot of the Old Porsche's

And if anyone has a spare mil+ laying around, you can make an offer on an original Shelby Cobra 427.

The wine was great!

It was really amazing at how well the 356's handled.I really had to work my twin turbo to hang with them through the twistys..the guy following me was in a 944turbo..and he couldn't keep up with us.There were times he was a full 1/2 mile behind!

then he can't drive - a good driver can be faster in a 944 turbo or 968 than a Carrera (maybe not a twin turbo) although the carrera has 50 or 60 hp more. just because of the perfect 50/50 balance a 968 (for example) has.

I've never spent any wheeltime in a 944,so i can't say. And it's quite possible the guy behind me was a slouch. My comment wasn't meant to be a slam against the 944.It was just impressive to watch a bunch of 50 year old cars slide through the corners like they were on rails.

np, i did not understand like that - i just assume that the guy can't drive. I met someone with a 356 a few weeks ago, they are really great cars. I will be on a Porsche weekend cruise in September and there will be lots of nice cars. Even some 356 but also (besides the 911 types) some 928, 914, 944 and of course 968 (at least mine).
