and no one asked you to read my ESSAY. and I respect you because I know your portfolio. even the ones you don't list. but since you're not sharing anything... i'll wait for your next informative post that says absolutely nothing. |
Allan,
Buydomains.com has a very large portfolio of domains :) |
My point was to aware you - That you may be able to pull the wool over the sheep's eyes. However those actually encompassing this industry, see your posts/experiences/thoughts for what they're - Bullshit. :glugglug
Taboo, honestly - No hate, or ill will. I just find your constant name dropping, and DNjournal references to be very juvenile/amatuer. As if, you're overcompensating for your own self worth. But nevertheless, continue you on. :thumbsup |

that's ok. he is one of the highrollers, especially catching dropped names, but every now and then I beat him. lol. in fact I bid a name up to $3k at one drop site and then when the drop finally happened, my $13 backorder grabbed it. unreal. |

lol. laugh all you want. i'm not namedropping if I'm telling ppl to go read the articles. it's called news. moron. If i talked to ppl about the Billboard Music topten, would you accuse me of namedropping britney spears, etc. FOOL. i don't own any of the resources I posted. they are useful/useless to some but dnjournal's top ten is nice way to watch the market. i check it every tuesday evening. how am i pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. what am i selling them? buying? I only wish when I entered the game, someone like webfather convinced me to buy every dictionary term you can think of. I was an active member of his community for a long time, and well know for my portfolio. i only took a break from domains/adult to make money during the mainstream bubble. I realize now that if there was an IGNORE feature for gfy, you'd be the first one on it. and hopefully vice versa. lol. call me what you will, but i stand beside my domains. and I don't need to post them in my sig for approval. SPAMMER. just kidding. |
Quote:
www.ER.com www.Glossary.com www.CRE.com www.HotLatinas.com these two go to a hosting page: www.Glossary.com www.CRE.com http://www.hostingrequest.com/hosting-directory/ lots of useful info there. lol. trying to market them or sell them? or make money with them? you're a genius. i never thought of using a HOSTING acct page. wow. maybe you'll put up a 404 next. teach us oh great one. |
Here's some more "namedropping" for you:
Want to get into the domain drop game? these sites allow you to place backorders. different rules, different bidding tactics. different ending times. read carefully. Pool.com namewinner.com Enom.com "club drop" godaddy.com and countless others. in fact i'm going to compile a step by step guide to make it easy for ppl to not get burned. and I sell it for... not $50 not $25 not $10 not $5 but FREE. a detailed guide. maybe even scripts, advice, tips, secrets and all the namedropping I can fit into it. and just for you AVM, oh mighty guru, testimonials from real industry insiders that know me, but don't know who the hell you are. god... I hope the market doesn't get saturated. |
Quote:
This market has been packed for years, you know that :) But as Rick (webdad) used to say, there is always some gold / diamonds in them mines :) |

In either case, why are you so defensive? Why do your retorts extend into several posts? My remarks hitting a little to close to home? Because after all of your futile attempts to belittle me, I'm still sitting here unaffected, and civilized. Perhaps this is due to me being secure with how I represent myself on this community. While you're on quite the rampage. :glugglug :glugglug |
and one more important tip for people who care:
make sure if you signup at pool.com to sign up for their affiliate program right away BEFORE you add names to your watch list. It'll help you save a little more every time you bid. And make a quicklink on your browser toolbar that goes to your affiliate id for pool.com every time you login and add names. it has saved me thousands of dollars. but do not add names unless you are absolutely sure you'll spend $60 for it if it drops and you're the only one who bid. AVM, was it wrong of me not to put a link to my pool affiliate acct so i can make money off all these, what did YOU call them all...oh yeah "SHEEP"... :1orglaugh I see negative posts just like yours on gfy Search Engine threads when SEOs give advice, the other SEOs try to tell him to shut up, or say BS, BLAHBLAHBLAH. No wonder no one shares here. I don't care how many more posts you have or how much longer you've been here, you've already told us all the reasons why you're not here. not here to share not here to hold hands not here to elaborate not here to add validity but gotta love your sig: _______________________ Spamming-My-Domains.com Cause-I-Am-So-Proud-Of-Them.com But-I-Dont-Know-How-To-Market-Some.com So-They-Point-To-Dead-Pages.com Plus-I-Got-No-Desire-To-Help-Anyone.com I-Am-My-Own-Worst-Enemy-OWNED.com . |

No problem Taboo, I enjoy witnessing your wanna-be "big time domainer" tirade. Thus, am delighted I could contribute to at least one thing in this thread; Your post count.
But hey, post count is irrelevant when you've Comcast, Sony, etc on speed-dial. I'm just glad you've time for us civilians, and care to Network with such lesser mere mortals. When you're dealing with some of the top corporations in the World. All within a week, no less. Gee golly. Fabricate more stories, and continue to sing your tales of fortune. In fact - better yet, provide your identity instead of masking your Whois. I'd love to know who is the current hotshot I am conversing with. |

Whats up Taboo? long time... good to see you posting again
Hows the progress with your M-o-D domains ?? |

Phone? Huh, what is this you speak of.
I just use one of these: http://www.kidssundayschool.com/Pres...s/canphone.gif |

long time no hear stranger. I just picked up the other M-o-D for $700. LOL. don't reveal anything to anyone yet. not right time/place. please. you still own the G-O-D? check out the site, i listed what I have and have made great progress. i also just picked up curious.com, you like? can you believe that the TABOO name was still available at gfy? lol |
slav,
i've got some koreans trying desperately to hijack some of my domains? any experience? or heard it happen to others? plus, you remember the other RICK, I just bought one of his flagship domains that I've been eyeing for years. i'll email you if your whois addy is correct. |

at this rate my postcount will be at 200 by noon. seriously though, I'll call a truce because it's not fair that I know who you are but you don't know me. because someday our paths will cross and it's best if there is a bridge there. but you are right, there are a lot of BS'ers in the domain world. I'm not one of them. I dropped over $300k in the past 6 months building my portfolio. and my gf's not too happy... Her: "do you know how big a diamond you could've bought instead?" Me: "Yeah, but the domain name is an investment in my future." :winkwink: |
Quote:
Did you see yahoo making your vision a reality recently? few months ago to be exact... if not look around, you'll jump for joy :) as far as curious.com, NICE scroe harmony, i saw it, i was a day late... and now a mil $ short :( |
Quote:
now companies understand the concept and they're like: "WOW. ok, lets partner." soon someone is gonna say, can we just buy you out? I thought they'd never ask. chinese dude? lol oh yeah. cause I couldn't get my "taboo" back. you've got a great memory. harmony.com, I wish I got it too. amazing. can you imagine traffic especially with eHarmony.com's logo making the "e" hard to see on TV ads. "other Rick" was selling his "VIP" domain and another one, and I got the other one. I'm building something new but I'm not going to compete with google. I'm going to be the opposite of google. not a search engine, more of a "find" engine. maybe they'll "partner" with me too. pre-ipo stock. if that site flies I'm sending "other rick" and his staff on a vacation for cutting me such a sweet deal considering he bought it so high and tried to get it funding for so long. did you see dailyblog.com drop the other day? not the best, but not bad. tomorrow/today is: communities.net |
i'm surprised you didnt get that VIPlounge domain, it went pretty cheap too
dailyblog and communities, i saw those.. they didnt peak my interests. >> now companies understand the concept and they're like: "WOW. ok, lets partner." I wanna partner with Yahoo, just for the bragging rights of having a partnerships with both Google and Yahoo :) why are you letting your domains collect dust?? put something on there (like PPC) and make few extra easy $ so you'd least have a bigger buying power. |
Quote:
he said he sold it 2 days earlier. thats what I get for sleeping. i already own vipclub and wanted that viplounge badly. how much did lounge go for? under $10k? do you remember his "O" domain? that's the one I bought. Plus I cleaned out afternic of all their premiums. all in one week. dailyblog would've been nice to add to my blog collection. sexblog, pornblog, etc. dust? lol. funny thing about corporate america is sometimes they want domains that aren't tainted, not even launched yet. crazy. but once I finish moving to new house, i'm moving to new servers and setting up everything properly. too many domains that end up "owning" me. lol. I need to talk to you for some specialized advice anyway. it's good to see you're still doing well. How's your empire? better than ever? still chat with webfather at all? i got invited back to chatboard by someone and they told me to contact him again. i had no idea it was still going strong. |

i make an easy $500-2000 a month just buying and selling non regged pretty average domains.

Hey Taboo! Great information, man. Thanks for the posts. I'm trying to sell off my domains, because they're just costing me money and I'm broke right now anyway :)
Here's my list at afternic...I have no idea if pricing is way off or what: http://www.afternic.com/names.php?best=1&u=8449 Any insight would be greatly appreciated! |
taboo: great thread.
avm: shut the fuck up. |
Word of advice. Do not solicite names that bare or resemble some kind of trademark. Let the respective company or person come to you. Always have a plan to "develop" that name. ICANN can be a bitch as I found out before.
|
Oh and GayMarriage.com expired and reached deletion but I was a couple minutes too late.
Does anyone have a close to full proof way of snatching up expired domain names? One that they'd be willing to share? :helpme |
Quote:
so that's is what you do. I always wondered |
Quote:
i.e. Ilovepepsi.com but sometimes, you find a generic or ordinary domain and have no idea that multiple companies will try to sue you, reverse hijack you for the domain. obviously many companies share the same brands, i.e. Delta (air) and Delta (faucets) but only one can own the domain. so if you're the lucky/unlucky bastard owning a domain like that, you have a few options. (i don't own delta, example only) "when I launch my site, I'll link to yours." and add very tactfully "in fact, I'm going to make a link on my front page that says OTHER DELTAs, an entire link list of ALL the companies that have offered to work with us or buy this domain, and give them free traffic, including your company" What I did was simple. Built a bridge. but more importantly, I also planted a few seeds in their mind: - I'm open minded and I'm a nice guy :winkwink: - Other companies want this domain bad enough to buy it - and I subtlely included them in that group of buyers whether they know it or not. - but I never offered the name for sale, in fact I've turned down offers. and sometimes this is the most important so you don't get labelled a squatter, etc. Next you ask for all their contact info so you can reach them when you launch and they'll give you REAL info. At least now you know exactly who you're dealing with and you've begun to build a targetted list of potential suitors for your domain. and its easier to negotiate when you know who they are. what you thought was a small business turns out to be much more some times. |
great thread, great advice
|
Thanks for the informative post Taboo!
great info. |
I just bought a domain last month.
Around 5K type-ins a day and quite some traffic from other places. So far it's been a good investment and I hope to make my money back within 2.5 months. |

Good luck on that "O" domain you bought from us... I hope you develop it into something huge!!! By the way, put in a good word to Verbal about the rest of our domains we have for sale: http://www.shortdomains.com/ We still have about 200 domains I believe, looking to sell the rest for about $25k. If there's a way to contact Verbal directly, let me know as well. I also have someone who want to invest money into buying the lot for 25k, but he can't afford the whole amount... You can find our e-mail address on the web-site. Thanks for the nice words bro. p.s. VIPlounge.com sold for like $2k on a charity auction we did here on GFY months ago... DIRT CHEAP! Needless to say, I didn't make any money from that auction. lol |
you wanna see someone with a kickass domain portfolio? just typein 69.com and scroll to the bottom. LOL!

Daymare,

National A1 has one of the best, if not #1 portfolio out there.
besides the ones you see there: singles.com teens.com girls.com fantasy.com escorts.com sextoys.com they also own: free.com friends.com and lots more like that. These guys are serious developers and buyers. I know first hand, because once they decided to launch one of their domains in a new industry, they made sure to buy 2 of my domains to make sure no one else had them. gotta love that. i knew who they were when they came to me, but since I had no way of entering that industry then, i sold to reinvest into my own portfolio. not a huge payday for me, but considering that I had less than $50 invested total, they offered me a very fair price under 5fig and wired the next day. we both walked away happy. |
