Why is porn illegal anyways?
All my life I have never questioned why porn is illegal, I have just accepted that it is. But the other day I was sitting around wondering why the government made porn illegal.
I don't actually know the real reason, but I assume at one time porn was not illegal, then some religious lobby group petitioned the government to make it against the law for people under 18 years old to buy porn. And so it has been since then. This got me thinking...what is so bad about people under 18 seeing naked people having sex? |

Really "Porn" isnt illegal. Just as alcohol isnt illegal (it just has age limits attached) Think about it, Children and teens are in their developmental stages of life. learning impulse control, values and hopefully getting an eduation. oh and of course the surge of hormones. Porn may give a unrealistic picture to the young minds.

I am with HTB on this one. It's only illegal if the wrong people are involved in it. Too bad, cuz this 17 yr old I met the other day....oh well. Forget it.

But is the law working? How many young boys look at porn before they are 18? I would guess most if not all do. I know I did.

I think that the law is working, so far as people want it to work. Take kiddie porn for example, that is against the law and most people are willing to turn someone in who is dealing in that shit. But if a 16-17 year old kid wants to download some porn, no one gives a shit. The law hasnt caught up with our morality(well, atleast mine). Hopefully someday

Porn is NOT illegal, according to our own Supreme Court. "Obscenity" is illegal, and unfortunately, according to the Supreme Court, each community gets to define that. There are a few "patently obscene" (illegal) things: kiddie porn, bestiality, scat, and (I'm told) fisting. I think rape (which might include bondage + sex) may be on the list as well. However, your average boinking shot isn't illegal unless jury in Chicken Neck, Ark., says so, Which they might. ------------------ Producer of truly original teen/young woman-oriented adult content at Wonders of the Unseen World |
