Notebook network problems
I always seem to be getting messed up with my notebook lan connection
I use 3 different connections to the 'net, my cellular connection, my 56k connection and the lan The problem is that when I connect using anything other than the lan, I loose the lan settings and my local network is f-d up Does anyone know an easy way to figure out what is happening and how to fix it? ------------------ Make dirty money from your surfers Dirty Gold Jack Thumbs TGP Search Engine Driven TGP - Pages LISTED INSTANTLY |

I dunno the solution...but I think we are in similiar boats... I have a toshiba - (it has a ethernet port and modem) - I normally connect through DSL but once or twice a week I was going to my buddy's house and connecting via cable modem. Shortly after my network card stop detecting my DSL line - but it still was able to find the cable modem for 6 weeks. Now it doesn't detect either. While trying to diagnose the problem I did run across something that might be causing the problem... My comptuer is trying to say tht there are two network cards...and it doesn't know which one to talk to ... I finally gave up and sent the fucker back to Toshiba...but I'm gonna be housebound for a week to 10 days. =( ~Brett |
