Request Urchin from your host, if they don't have.

I agree, the only thing that third party stats do are to suck traffic away, and slow down page load. I'd suggest at least getting a paid hosting account so that you can run your own remote stats package so that you don't have any of the trouble with 3rd party one's. It shouldn't cost you more than 10 to 20 a month, which you can use for all of your free hosting stuff. Maybe it's time that you all started to ask your free hosts for stats, it would be a win-win situation. Both of you would win because there is less stuff on the page trying to get the surfers attention !!!

web counters are still a good deal.

First, the graphs provide you with the informantion you neeed and are easier to read than server logs/stats.

Second, web counters are also the largest adult search engines...so you can get targeted traffic off of them.

Third, Sexlist offers exit stats - I love exit stats - - my server logs/stats didn't bother to build software add ons that I want

yes,
Trackers makes your page loading slow. So you got less exit traffic

Sexlist is used by millions hits, so it will work slower than a local script (for counting exit traffic)

Tracker's does not sent any hit to sites, only 3-5 hits

I used to work for a counter company ... so i know the game.

browsers load top down. If you think your page is loading slow because of a 10-14k image served by another company you can always put the counter on the bottom of your page.

But for me... the benefits to using a web counter are still plentiful.

I love how easy it is to log in.

I love that the top referrer lists are right there waiting for me.

I love that exit stats are also right there...and they are graphed too.

I like that as i'm loggin into mystats with porntrack...I find other offers for other helpful webmaster resources that I would have missed had I have not logged in.

And then there is the traffic...
It does dies down after you have been listed for a while...but as you grow...back up into the top 100 sites tracked in your category... New webmasters approach you for link trades. Another Extra Added benefit of the web counter.

all in all... It's a product I support.
