Bush met with a group of Amish people on July 9th in Pennsylvania, and proclaimed that "God speaks through me". He told Bob Woodward that rather than consulting his father before invading Iraq, he consulted a "Higher Father". Now it has been reported that Bush said to Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas "God instructed me to strike at Saddam."
Psychiatrists are pretty much in agreement, that when you talk to God, you are praying. But when God talks to you, you probably have a mental illness.
So whats next for this guy ? Will the next surgeon general be a "Faith Healer"? Will Bush show signs of stigmata at the Republican Convention ? Will he start speaking in tongues at the debates ? I certainly respect a persons right to be as religious as they want to be but when our President starts a war because he hears voices from God, I can't help but be a little concerned.
