Keg Parties - $10 a person, $150 a keg. 25-30 people to a keg is good. You just need a nice backyard or house if you don't mind cleaning up after. If you have a backyard, you can keep everyone out there and lock the house. Rent a porta-potty for the girls. Also have some liquor and drinks for the girls. You can even hire a hotdog guy and get a small cut of his revenues. DJ's are also good and you can usually find a DJ to spin for free as long as they get to drink. Networking - Most people don't know how to network or share an internet connection and will gladly play $50 to have you network their house. They'll usually split the $50 between the 5 roommates or so and it only turns out being $10 a person. You can even buy hubs and wires on ebay and sell them at a higher price to the students houses you're networking. Coupon booklets - Go to surrounding business within walking distance of the campuses and ask them if they'd like to advertise in a coupon booklet with the circulating being however many students you can the booklets out too. Make sure you actually hand them out and make sure there are good deals so the coupons get used and the business owners will see their ROI. Next year it's even easier, you have a list of current advertisers, just visit them all again and if you did a good job this time around, they'll gladly renew. Charge them a couple hundred bucks, get about 20-30 advertisers, get them printed out for another hundred and hand them out. Party - One year we threw a party at a club that was a bit further out from the campuses on a night that wasn't popular there. We charged $5 a ticket and got the manager of the club to let us keep all the revenues from ticket sales (he got the liquor revenues). We got the DJ and handled all the promotions. The manager payed for a few busses that ran back and forth so students wouldn't have to get cabs. Key is to make the party the place to be. Get enough people asking their friends if they're going to this party on this day and everyone will show up. Good luck man. I just finished college and those ideas are from my personal experience. They're all low start up ideas and can give you some good returns if you have access to the students. If you want to talk about any of these ideas, feel free to ICQ me. |
fuck yes man. what is your icq number?? mine is 293644144

Have you considered purchasing condoms in bulk amounts ? Obviously this would take a little amount of investment but if your going to target the student market make sure you are trying to sell them something that they are going to use.
If you buy them in bulk you will get them cheap and then you can sell them per box and make a very nice profit. Design the flyers, print them out and do some advertising, then either setup a website or mail order system and your good to go with little effort on your part once its all up and running Students main interest lie in alchohal and sex so make sure you profit from that :2 cents: |
I attended an aunt's funeral and at the burial site about 10 doves were released..
I talked to the guy that brought them. He has a killer bidness with these things.. Charges like $400, brings the birds in a covered basket, tells one of the guests to lift the lid when they're ready for em to fly.. and he goes home.. The doves fly back to their cages at his house.. He said he gets calls for funerals, weddings, corporate events, yada yada.. The birds are inexpensive, apparently easy to train to return to thier cage.. He charges by the number of doves a customer wants .. |

Hey, that kennel thing sounds great. I have had AaronM's dog Cayman in my yard off and on for 3 years. I will have to add that $12 per day up and see what he owes me!!!

150 bucks a keg? 10 bucks a person? i'm just curious to what college you went to so i stay away from getting ripped off. :1orglaugh
kegs here of natty, beast, keystone are 50 bucks max and we don't charge anything... one of the best reasons why i love this school... free parties and free beer. |
Funny but interesting responces :1orglaugh
Depending on how close you are to campus, I can see you selling multiple things once you've established your presence and location. :thumbsup |
throw a penny in a fountain and wish for 10 grand. It's a huge return.

The figures that the businesses state they earn are incredibly askewed. In a recent issue (1-2 months back), a family company profited from selling sport jerseys online, with a reported 1 million+ revenue. ... Yet, their website has been down since I read the mag. Go figure. |
I wouldn't recommend you do the kennel thing as it's a lot harder than you think. Plus you're liable for a lot of problems if something happens to a dog in your care.
A group of young people around here have put together and group of them that do general labor. People around here hire them to haul things to the landfill, do yardwork, paint, walk dogs, etc. I have only used them once, but I"ll do it again when I have a big yard project and little energy. :) |

The frat boys used to go door to door in the dorms selling goofy t-shirts with popular cartoon characters drinking beer and smoking joints or pissing on things, and goofy jokes, sayings, sexual comments, etc.... Especially with the name/logo of the school on them.
They would get $15-20 per shirt and MANY people would buy them. I'm sure it didn't cost very much to have them printed up in bulk. :2 cents: |
