Thats sad to hear.. I guess they've had too much noise about this game being the most advanced game "out there"...
Didn't meet the expectations
I enjoyed Half Life myself. Can't wait to see the second version. Screens are amazing. I think we grew up from them monsters in Doom by now..
It was Wolfenstein at first.. Then Doom1
The good ol' days. When there was a big fucking difference between the 268 and the 386 processors...

The graphics are awesome and yes it is "advanced" like they said. But the gameplay gets repetitive.
Half-Life 2 has a sweet new destructible objects engine: meaning, if a monster is by a barrel and u shoot the barrel to hit the monster .. it'll get smacked by the barrel.
now add that to a multi-player set-up .. and it'll be damn nice.

Thats what sucks the most
I stopped playing Everquest after several repetitive quests..
Although I want to take a look at EQ2 when it'll come out. Pretty impressive modern 3D graphics..

Half Life 1 gave me chills when I was playing it without the cheat codes. It was so damn scary I had to drink a few beers before moving on. Loved that game.
Second one would be a killer, I can already feel it from the screenshots.
Iam waiting to see what kinda of levels people make for it. Engine and graphics are nice, but the whole dark thing is a bit overdone...specially the year the game takes place and you cant have a light mounted on a gun?

Yeah.. I think what's being "overdone" are the evil corporations and dark rooms.
How can the xbox do it for you and the PC not?
they have to scale back the graphics hardcore for the Xbox version because PC hardware is so much more advanced than those consoles..
unless you have an old computer, well then nevermind..
PC's will always rule when it comes to quality as the technology in a PC updates where the tech in a console stays the same forever basically.
The game is completely astounding, totally blows any FPS game ever made out of the water..
And the completely fucked up thing is that in 3-4 years we are going to be looking back on doom3 the same way we are looking back on quake2 or so..
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."
