- Number of US troops: about 135,000

1) A heavy proportion of those troops are National gards, reservists and so on ( not on active duty in the US) . They would not be paid what they are paid now.

2) Ammunition, bombs, arms, apache , Tomahawks used and done with are a supplement cost, a big one.

3) Cost of Haliburton alone is one that would not be if not at war ( hummmm, maybe we just found the WMD ...)

The real cost of war is hard to estimate. The cost to the future. How many more wars will we see in our life time and what will they cost finacially? Depending on new technologies and weapons Presidents may become even more power hungry and fabricate a story to seize more countries and resources.
