Whats the point in sending filtered traffic through galleries.

You know, the people with the clearly visible "it's only 2.95 to sign up" link on their tgp gallery.

So i wonder about 2 things:

1: You can show the world better ratios but what does it matter, its still the same amount of traffic that clicked on your gallery, just less click throughs.

2: Lets say that link filters 60% or more surfers and leaves you with 40% potentially interested surfers. That 40% wouldve clicked through anyway and those other 60% you now filtered (read: scared) still couldve made you a sale if they see something interesting on the tour.

Why filter traffic that clicked your gallery anyway? You have nothing to lose if they click through.

Unless ofcourse you want to brag on gfy with 1:50 stats.

What's the point in making this thread?

To answer your question, people do what makes them the most money. I generally like telling surfers trial prices.

I think some of it look at it another way. There may be some that would not click on the link to the tour...but they like the gallery and see that it is only $2.95 so they click because it is so cheap for a trial.

Builds trust. The surfer who clicks on "more pictures here" is looking for more pictures. The surfer who clicks the trial price is aware that he is going to be asked for $$$.

Depends how you do it. The key is sending them to a paysite in a frame of mind where they're ready to get out the credit card. Send a surfer to a paysite with the impression that it's free and he will feel cheated and simply click the back button.

i never put price on galleries. i couldn't care less about the ratio from the ctr it means shit. sign ups to impressions is what matters.

i think most tgp surfers know if they click a banner they're going to a paysite...

It's not about filtering traffic.

It's about enticing them to visit your sponsor.

Buidling trust increases sales. The point is they make more overall sales their way then the old way.

What percentage of the surfers nowadays dont know the galleries will go to a paysite? Only the people who for the first time visit a tgp. And even those people will learn how it works within a hour. Tricking the surfer because the link leads to a paysite? No, i highly doubt surfers will feel tricked.

I'm doing better with agressive advertising . When the surfer knows he will have to buy something ...

Hits & conversions don't matter . It's the ammount of signups you pullout at the end that does

cheap until he forgets to cancel and it converts, and in his mind he thought it was only $2.95 not $39.95 or whatever.

chargeback time
