Many people don't mind the taste of diet coke, so taking a diet coke instead of a normal one makes no difference in your eating experience. There's no diet pizza though, so there's no easy way to eat it yet not have the effects.


Compare it to a night out gambling. Let's say you spend $2500 gambling, then, after that, go out to a bar. At the bar they serve beers for either $50 or $5, with no difference in taste whatsoever. Would you buy the $50 one or go for the $5 one?

its funny but it makes sense. Why take on all that extra sugar and cause an insulin spike. At least the fries is pretty much complex carbs. Its one thing eating something that will get you fat, but drinking something that will cause diabetes is just silly when you can prevent it by drinking something that causes cancer lol. But it's definaltey not as bad to take on all those calories without sugar as it is with sugar.

I'm surprised it hasn't ocurred to anyone yet that a good reason to drink diet Coke might be if the person in question is diabetic? Adult onset diabetes happens more to obese people, too, I believe (but I may be wrong).

Also, I will buy a cookie and a sugar free Red Bull at the same time... I can sometimes drink five Red Bulls in a day, and if I bought the regular kind that would add up to 550 calories (twice as many as the cookie), whereas five cans of sugar free only add up to 50.

I'm guilty of this as well. I'll order and eat a large pizza by myself and polish it off with a Diet Coke.... and I'm only 100 lbs (for now) I don't like regular soda, it's too sweet and I've never liked anything loaded in sugar. I may be one of the only people on the face of this earth that doesn't like candy, icecream, frozen yogurt, etc. (Other than butrflied's peanutbutter cookies and cheesecake which I indulge in maybe a few times a year).

after years and years of drinking diet drinks almost exclusivly I have trouble drinking full sugar types without my teeth hurting. I like a Dr. Pepper now and then and it is very hard to get the diet version in the UK but other than that it has to be a diet version or I can't drink it.
