$20 million per year is almost $55,000 per day.

That's 1 signup every 55 seconds. Very unlikely for one single TGP.

I'd have to say that the highest grossing TGP is a TGP that promotes high quality paysites they own through that TGP, among other methods of profiting directly off their own TGP surfers instead of just selling gallery spots alone.

I mean standard TGP's that a webmaster can submit to or buy spots on. I just find it interesting that so many people getting into this biz immediately start with the shittiest thing they can in terms of revenue.

Well yes, that part is obvious. Even if that site were making $5 million per year in advertising, they'd still have to be getting 1 signup every 73 seconds. That's assuming that they're not getting the Mach 3 treatment... which they most certainly would be from almost any sponsor. Once that is factored in along with advertising, you're back down to 1 signup every 55 seconds, and maybe less.

31 spots, all sold a $30 each.
31 * 30 * 365 = $339450
minus the huge BW bill.

I think The Hun comes close to 2 million.

none - the hun gets revenue from pre-paid gallery placements on the top 15 spaces and banners. the rest of thegalleries are free placements.

That's how I figured it. Seems most new TGP owners are like those MLM people that "own their own business".

The more interesting question would be how much the Hun generates in total - for himself and all listed webmasters combined. 70 listings last time I looked x 5 sales (?) on average, 300-500 sales a day, does that sound realistic? And for himself all the cybercat sales

And take that x 365, niiiiceeee

Hun, just save us all the guess work and do tell k?

Hehe, nothing against the big guys out there. Taking any business to where the profitable TGP's are is something anyone should hope to be able to do. What I'm getting at is it's the first thing everyone seems to start with in this business and the chances of success today are horrible. I'd imagine that overall the average TGP earns less than a Burger King job even counting the big boys in those numbers.

yes, but it is a page with links to other sites, which means that it appears very easy to do. this is why the newbs are drawn to them, plus they want to be like the HUN....

Well if the hun charges $500 to be in the top 15 for a day, that would be $2,737,500 a year plus how ever much banner spots run

I did the same math. I think the spots get cheaper as they go down the page. But lets say this is close.

Gross 2.70
Cybercat .9
Hosting .3

Net 1.5

Not too fucking bad!!!

Cybercat takes 30% or that is the figure I heard. The hosting number includes an employee. Could be high, I doubt it is low.

Polish-aristrocrat, sex.com

Oh well Last time I bother !!

I believe that Bunnyteens buys a lot of traffic for his site which could take quite a bit of that revenue away, can anyone here confirm that ?

The Hun's revenues from paid spots should only be "the topping on the cake" if he's
doing things right... which I think he is. ;)

Namely... Pimpin' the fuck out of the TGP itself - Advertising at a higher level than
noobs & wannabe's could imagine the next couple of years of their "biz".

How can people justify spending $500 dollars on getting a top 15 spot on The Hun, when they could purchase a banner ad on The Hun for $1100 for a month?

Think in terms of traffic and traffic quality. The sex.com gets untargetted people looking for "sex". This could be tons of stuff. The hun gets people looking fro porn. And the hun gets tons of them.

You actually think people are making money with 500$ gallery spots?
they only do it cause they have too much money and its burning a hole in their pocket...
PS. Keep quiet about the banners, or else everybody willl find out about it and spots will be booked for months in advance

have you seen how sex.com works?

the bulk of their revenue comes from webmasters buying listing. sex.com is not much more than a PPC adult search engine.

It is a PPC search engine. The PPC part is not so great. Check the search on here for them. I just think I would rather have 2 mil versus 60k people a day. In both cases they are real people so give me the bulk.

the problem is bandwidth is so cheap now. years ago noobs would get killed by burning bandwidth while they learn

Gary Kremen please correct me if I am wrong, but i think sex.com receives about 250k daily from type-ins.
And yes, I'd rather have those 250k visitors than the 2 Millions from TheHun

Exactly!

There are many ways to make money in this biz, and making a TGP is one of the worst I'd say.
That doesn't mean that you won't make money if you start a new TGP right now, but you'll be making more if you use your brain and think about something more unique.
