Why are you people all so cooked up about TGP's?
Judging by the posts here and on other boards one woul dthink they are the only traffic source out there.
Well let me tell you they are not there's: Picposts Toplists Search Engines Link sites Banner exchange services Traffic systems The old fashioned link exchanges Regular advertising(Magazines, TV, Radio) Payed ads (buy a spot at a popular site) Webrings And I for one can tell you that if used corrrectly they are a lot easier to make money from then TGP's Let's hear some opinions here ![]() Wolfshade ------------------ Get paid per minute! I'm submitting to about 10 picposts and get between 2 and 4k daily from them
But there are ways to make that traffic work for ya ![]() 1 Submit pic and submit banner and URL to your sponsor 2 Submit pic and link/banner to your site Option 1 is nice for some fast $$$ Option 2 when you're in it for the long haul ![]() Wolfshade ------------------ Get paid per minute! I haven't been using toplists for a long time. But then, a couple of days ago, I decided to give 'em a try, so I joined a few in my particular niche (decent toplists in English with a strong guard against cp/beastiality sites)
I'm very pleased with the result. Traffic is up and it seems as if these surfers are very click-happy--my click thru rates have doubled. I was a member of a webring once but dropped it. I had shitty sites on both sides of me in the ring... and they sent little traffic. I thought the webring idea was pretty dead these days... ? |

I purchase licensed content, but aren't you required to actually own the pics in order to post them legally?
Many content providers explicitly forbid you to post content that's licensed only. ![]() [This message has been edited by Lord Assmore (edited 05-06-2001).] |

Good point...there are alot of ways to get traffic.
I personaly think link exchanges are the best source. Plus you are able to keep a constant source of traffic running through your site. I do TGP submitting because it's easy...30 min of work will get me a couple signups, and about 2k of fresh traffic back to my main site...which is used to boost trades, and make new ones. All goes back to the Link Exchange. Toplists? Wolf..youve had good luck with them? I find I dont get shit back from Toplists. Id rather send the traffic to a exchange that give me equal traffic back. Plus many of your script sites also have a toplist feature too...so you got the best of both worlds. Link sites are great...Im assuming you are meaning sites like Green Guy, Tommys, Foxy's. But the traffic only lasts for a week or so. It's a great way to bring traffic in...to make trades...all going back to my favorite..Link Exchanges. Banner Exchange Services...sucks Advertising in magazines....way too expensive. Advertising on a large site...why pay when you can generate traffic through other means? Take your girl out to a nice restraunt instead. Search Engines: Great for small amounts (quality) Webrings: Great for small amounts (quality) Just one guys opinion ![]() |

Ah great fuel for discussion
![]() Banner Exchange Services...sucks Not necissarily, it comes down on the quality of the banner you design, I have gotten up to 1k daily just from banner exchanges Advertising in magazines....way too expensive. That's purely a business decision when you invest an amount of money in a promotional campaign and you get a profit out of it, the expenses don't matter because you got more in return. Advertising on a large site...why pay when you can generate traffic through other means? Because doing it all results in even more traffic and you make even more $$$ perhaps? Take your girl out to a nice restraunt instead. With all the money I have then made from all those extra sources of traffic I can do that too ![]() Search Engines: Great for small amounts (quality) If you think 10k is small but I think a lot of webmasters would beg to differ ![]() Webrings: Great for small amounts (quality) Depends on the webring. And while I'm at it: Let's say I get 100k from TGPs And 1k from the other sources The 100k gets me $ 200 bucks in sign ups The one k gets me $ 350 bucks in sign ups Which method of site promotion is more important? ![]() Let the discussion proceed! ![]() Wolfshade ------------------ Get paid per minute! Yup, Pic Posts can work something sweet.
I was on The Hun's Thumbs Up a few months back, eating up some bandwidth from terra.es. I wanted to test it, so I threw a gallery together in 10 minutes, uploaded the pics and submitted. I was listed within a week and made a quick $35 for a total of 20 minutes work. HOWEVER, I have free sites listed on the search engines that are now doing $300 per month. Each site only takes 1 hour to build, but you have to wait about 8 months to be listed everywhere (excite, northern light, etc). Some sites I have made well over $1500 for 1 hours work. It's just waiting to get into the search engines... and if you don't do it right, then you're fucked. I NEVER submit to search engines, they come and find me. So far, that's working fine. ![]() |

Kat I honestly wished more people would "spam" like that
![]() I mean some of the TGP owners get crazy with their rules because WE make em that important. Personally I think that's mostly because of starting webmasters with little experience that are unaware of the wealth of other traffic sources out there. Toplists can be tricky.. you have to work on your desriptions and/or banner.
Usually, I try to find toplists that send back way more visitors than they get from the participating sites. Many toplists owners pump in some traffic from other sources, and some lists have even SE traffic to them. [This message has been edited by Lord Assmore (edited 05-06-2001).] |

Everybody - thanks for the kind words. It fucking amazes me the shit people talk in this world about you but never to your face or better yet even in a email (so go fuck yourself) was the perfect place for you to tell me about my rules and how you hope I bleed to DEATH. My email address has never changed since the day I opened Superchicken.com almost 5 years ago. [email protected]
Since the new rules went into effect. I have not received 1 email (I repeat not 1 email about a Webmaster mad at the rules but instead happy that we switched to a system that makes more honest webmasters happy. Please let me know how I can make everyone in this world happy or even a few more. I will be glad to adjust my rules. But you need tell me how I can. Thanks for letting me have my say. ------------------ Peace the chicken coupe, SuperChicken |

wolfshade,
good point on the: The 100k gets me $ 200 bucks in sign ups The one k gets me $ 350 bucks in sign ups a lot of new webmasters are more impressed with hits/day instead of $$$/day... probably because hits/day are what we always compare. it's the dollars that matter. quality of traffic is a major factor. movie sites routinely get 20k/day, but most free pic sites bring in more cash with 5-10k/day. tgps are even worse. what's crazy is that i still trade hit for hit. there's no measure of the quality of the hit. sure 'productivity tracking' helps a bit, but it's still not a true measure of what the traffic is worth. ------------------ HQ HQ's Daily Nude - http://www.hqdailynude.com/ Traffic Trade? - http://www.hqdailynude.com/webmasters.html Free Content? - http://www.oliver-klozov.com/cgi-bin...i?ref=hqdailyn |

Ah mr chicken responds, on the wrong thread, but nevertheless a respond worthy of a reply from me, after all I was the one with the bleed to death comment:
So here it goes: 1 I gave up mailing you along time ago because you never respond anyway, I think most of the webmasters have simular experiences. So there's the reason you find it on the boards. 2 Explain to me how this is fair: You do not accept galleries from freehosts, yet when they post movies you do. Is that leeching bandwidth or not? so to answer your question on how to make things fair: Either stop accepting freehosts or do accept them but not only when it suits you because you can't get enough movie submissions otherwise, that hypocrite, and your traffic is not good enough to warrant that IMHO. You ask for a sponsor link, which is crazy enough in the first place, but to add passwords, ban freehost galleries(but not movies!) and still require it is plain lame and money hungry. Feel free to respond I love a good discussion, and i sure would like to hear your comments on this one ![]() Wolfshade ------------------ Get paid per minute! Dialerclopedia |

I rarely submit to tgp's. Mostly making Se doorways, avs and free sites. Make about 3-4k pm off less than 10k traffic a day. I've tried cj ( e.g. http://a1-teenpussy.com/tgp/index.shtml and http://cunninglicious.com/menu.shtml etc ) without much success in building traffic up and certainly not making money off this traffic. Any hints?

Hey WS - One of the better posts of the week. Hope it is rewarded! A couple weeks ago I posted about Webrings - trying to dig up some info. I remembered they were a great way for our sexhound webmasters to bring in 200-1000 unique a day. Not too shabby if join plenty of decent ones and put them on feeder sites. But I wasn't able to find much. The one that I did find (besides the porlords/thumblords/sexclicks) was http://www.snaggleporn.net/x_series/wm_homepage.html (this is not my webring... I did create a teen web ring...but no need to shameless promote. If you know me...you know where to find it.) Would appreciate it Wolf or others... if you know of more Webrings... if you would post them as well... ~BrettJ 9123759 |

Don't forget about free sites submitted to the big link lists like Persian Kitty and Green Guy Links, etc. AVS sites also bring in some really good quality traffic. CJ sites are the easiest to create and get big traffic from fast, too bad the scripts are so expensive, very easy to make one of these with just a bit of feeder traffic though. I'd have to agree with Wolfshade, toplists are good too if you can find some that aren't run by or ruined by cp & cheaters.

In my glorified experience I know nothing. I am still fairly new. But one thing I do know is that a good place to start is TGP's. It gives you a chance to figure out what sponsors attract more traffic. What kind of banners and text links work best. And so on so forth. But the biggest lesson you can learn from TGP's is how to handle balloon headed Webmasters. Yes I am talking to you balloon heads. Don't get mad at me for calling you balloon heads. I am not referring to anybody in specific cause not all the Big Heads are Balloon Heads. But all I ask is to be honest with yourselves. Are you a Balloon Head? I do agree that the big guys need to be tough on the newbies because our industry is becoming saturated from the HUGE amount of new webmasters. But you need to be nice to me. Technically I started in this business 4 years ago when I was sixteen. I had a certain unnamed sponsor and I had NO idea what I was doing. But when I got a $600 check and my mother kicked my ass. And I had to take down my sites. I knew what I was going to be when I grew up.
GOD DO I EVER RAMBLE ON ABOUT STUPID SHIT!!!! Anyway the lesson here is 1. If this was not your childhood dream then go away!!! 2. If you are a balloon head. Be nice to me but not to the people under category #1 Thank you for listening. all questions to [email protected] and don't fucking spam me A-Holes |
