Would this worry you?

My 9 year old daughter has had a head-ache and had been throwing up for a week. I take her to the doctor and they make an app. for an M.R.I and E.E.G . Ok well we go to the app. and they do the test and tell us the doctor will call and talk to us about the results. Well two days go by and today the doctor's office calls and tells me her results came back abnormal and they want us in the office again . The first app. they have open is Aug. 10th . I am worried to death about what exactly abnormal means to this doctor and must wait another 11 days to find out. I find myself watching her every move and checking in on her in the middle of the night. Would you be this worried or am I just worring about it way to much?

inner ear infections can cause headaches, dizzyness, and nausea, im not saying dont be worried, thats an impossibility, but dont panic yet, the simplest problems can cause big problems, so dont panic yet.

2nd opinion time. If the doctors are so concerned why do they keep putting you off. Demand to know. Time may be of HIGH importance. Catching something early could mean a big difference. FIND OUT ASAP.

Yes, defintly go see another doctor.
This may be a simple ear-infection and nothing to be worried about, but you never know.
It is better safe then sorry.

I'm sure she is fine, there is no sense getting all worked up about it. Like said above, the simplest problems can cause big problems. However, I do not have any children so I can really relate to parents.

When I was younger I used to get sick all the time, mostly from ear-infections. Tons of hospital visits, 2 operations. In the end I was fine, but that didn't help the folks' from worrying about me constantly.

You will feel a lot better if you get a real second opinion.
None of us on GFY are Doctors.

this is not a good doctor who don't give results right away.
better find another one, or even better find some additional ones until you'll feel that you've found the pro.

that's better to have a personal doctor who would take care of your family for a lifetime and who will visit your house if something happens

When I was a kid I got headaches that made me puke like crazy , and I got them like everyday for a long time ..
I got an MRI and catscan etc , and there was an " abnormality " but it wasnt anything major .

I wouldnt worry too much ..
Doctors usually seem calm and not to worry too much , cause they know whats going on , and are unattached emotionally .

if there was a true emergency , they wouldnt be putting you off .

Man you can never be too paranoid about watching your kid! My little girl had a bad fever for 3 days and I didnt sleep once not even when she got to bed I staid awake and all I worried about was her nothing else mattered.

I would absolutely and positively call the Dr's office and DEMAND an appointment the same day and if they don't comply then you DEMAND to speak with the Dr. via phone to find out exactly what is going on. If that doesn't work, then set up an appointment with another physician (a neurologist would be good) ASAP and request that the MRI/EEG results be sent to this new Dr. right away.

I have worked in the medical profession for many years, and for the Dr. to say there is something "abnormal" and not be able to see you for several days is bullshit. Patients and parents have rights and remember that the Dr. is working for YOU and your daughter. You demand some answers or go elsewhere to find them. I'm sure you're stressed out about this and are thinking the worse...and that is unfair to you and to your daughter who is ill.

Remember, the squeeky wheel gets greased, so make a lot of noise and get some answers. Physicians always stress about malpractice/lawsuits so if you are loud enough, this Dr. will listen or risk a lawsuit. Good luck!
