Is it worth the risk?

I see a lot of companies are doing "spoof" logos based on popular brands like Krispy Kremes and Starbucks, Nike, etc.

All I can say is....

YOU ARE NUTS!!!

We got sued by Nabisco for distributing 3 copies of a title by another producer called "Whoreos" which featured scenes of 2 black guys with a white girl... the box had the red triangle in the corner ("more chocolate flavored cocks" instead of "cookies") but other than that i assure you that no one would pick up the box and confuse it for a box of cookies....

WELL THAT DIDN'T MATTER TO A SKYSCRAPER FULL OF ATTORNEYS ON RETAINER FOR R.J REYNOLDS!!!

Parody defense? Yeah right... do you know how much it will cost to win that argument?

I send you all a word of warning. You are inviting trouble and the kind of lawsuit that is just a pain in the ass and a burn of otherwise valuable income.

Now... if anyone gets into trouble guess what?

I GET TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO!!!

Live and learn. Let them make their own mistakes and pay the price. Who remembers the slurpee guy? I sure as hell do...

Sure... that is the first thing that will usually happen... but we are talking about corporate attorneys trying to justify their bills to those corps.... they will keep at it until money shakes loose.

I totally agree. I see more and more banners spoofing big companies... IMO this is too big of a risk to take and however is doing it is walking a very thin line.

Too risky of a deal. Its very creative and I love creative but not worth the lawsuit headaches.
