Democrats are rolling!!

This has been two great nights for Democrats!
Even Teresa came through with an excellent speech and I think just might help Kerry get even more of the female vote! She struck hard tonight for the rights of women in America.

I'm stoked!!

Mrs. Kerry should "Shove It" and take her medication like Dean and Gore.... She mostly talked about her favorite subject...HERSELF!

John is going to reverse Global Warming??? .....

The Dems are generating so much hot air, they are contributing to the problem.

They came through so great that Kerry is actually losing points during his own convention. That will be a first.

I thought she gave a good speach and seemed to come off as authentic. Unfortunbately for her, there are FAR TOO many Americans who will hold it against her that she speaks with a foreign accent. I know that sounds foolish but there a lot of foolish people in this country who vote.

Another big problem is that noone is probably watching. The networks hate broadcasting these conventions because they lose viewers. Most Americans would rather watch reruns of the Apprentice than listen to politicians bullshit them.

The post of "Democrats Rolling" is pretty far fetched as I would doubt Kerry builds up a 5to a 7 point lead after this convention.

the Democrats would be better off not to hold conventions - they turn off alot of voters who are independents.

tonight was pretty lacklustre, bordering on pathetic.

my gut feeling is that Bush is going to win - hard to believe when so many people hate him. i think that hatred gets skewed on the Internet because most people on the Net hate everything.

economy is doing well, the worst part of the Iraq war is over.

It all depends on thursday night. Next to the debates, this is his BIG OPPORTUNITY to reach the people. He MUST come accross as someone who is strong and UNWAVERING in what he believes. He has been painted as a flip flopper on the issues and if he doesn't come through as strong thursday night, he probably never will. He doesn't have that many opportunities left. If he blows this one, he's in big trouble.

you think one speech will change the "flip-flop" tag?

Probably not but Kerry has to hope it will go a long way towards that. That is a HUGE issue with a lot of voters.

Yeah..The "Hardball" crew got into a big discussion about her accent..they were talking about whether or not "she would play well in Peoria".

But even if she was a bit long winded on herself, I still give her kudos! Frankly, women at conventions (and in politics in general) have really been in such a minor role that I applaud her emphsizing the need for women to be viewed as well educated as opposed to being "opinionated".

True..but the same will apply to the Republican convention.
However, the news commentators were very impressed with Reagen, Barack Obama, & Teresa (though Fox news got a good dig in at her saying she was a "trainwreck" in her speech. But Ron Reagen on Hardball said he had heard some right wing "wanna be newstation" (about rolled off the sofa laughing when he said that) had called her a trainwreck and he then said, "Man, if anyone ever said that about my wife, there would be TROUBLE! Reagen may call himself an "independent", but I think he's got some Democratic leanings!)

They are off and rolling to a much better start than expected.
Even the news commentators said that the first 2 nights had come off much better than they had expected and that they had been blown away by some of the speeches that had been given.

And to a man, almost everyone is saying that they have not seen the democrats so united in decades! (I guess GW is a uniter, not a divider..for the demos!)

I was personally very impressed with her. She is obviously a strong woman but she comes accross in a non-threatening, feminine way. That's the big problem with Hillary Clinton. Hillary is very strong but she comes off as pushy and full of herself, almost like a guy. As men, for whatever reason, we don't respond well to that.

Phew..what parallel universe do you get that info from?
There are still 1.5 million LESS jobs NOW than when Bush came to power..and there is NO EXIT strategy in Iraq. To say the "worst" part of the war is over is ludicrous. It's about as bad as it has ever been even now. If the bad part was indeed over, then why the heck aren't we bringing home troops instead of extending their stay beyond their call of duty?!?

and in what Century did that take place?
I can't remember ANY convention in the 20th century where it was unclear for the democrats at the beginning of the convention as to who would be the nominee. Someone ALWAYS had it sewed up by the opening ceremony.

In politics, anything could occur from now till elections. Don't count the Repablicans out of it yet, they haven't even really started campaigning yet.

Scary scary thought. And for everything we know that is wrong with him or that he has done incorrectly, it is VERY hard to find anything he's done RIGHT! The Republicans bash Kerry big time for anyting, but you rarely hear them saying "I'm voting for George Bush because he (fill in the blanks here!) did this!"

Your concept of "incorrectly" and your concept of "RIGHT" which does not make the Presidents positions factually incorrect or not right. At this point approximately half of Americans support the Presidents positions. Your third statement could not be more wrong...but I understand why you made the statement. It is because of the severe lack of comprehension you suffer with.

"...Yet even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes. Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America; there's the United States of America. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported it. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America..."

-- Barak Obama, Democratic National Convention Keynote Speech, July 27, 2004
